Oversaw all aspects of safety including, but not limited to LOTO procedures and implementation, Confined Space permitting and authorization, Safety meetings, site orientations along with verifying certs and proper paperwork before site visits. Worked as Safety Officer on near shore skimming operation on MC252 Gulf oil spill. Started in Gulfport, MS to Panama City, FL. Was responsible for 100 workers, and anywhere from 10 to 50 vessels. These vessels ranged in size from small pleasure craft to 130’ liftboats, 200 ton crane barge, 165’ crew boat, skimmers, decontamination barges. Implemented specific site safety health plan, JSEA’s, and all aspects of training operations. Adhered to all EMR’s and BP’s policies.
