Summary Profile
I have been working in Oil & Gas industry for six and half years as a Senior Petrophysicist. Currently I am working with Sperry Drilling—Halliburton, Angola, as a Senior Petrophysicist for the last 1.5 years. I am responsible for all the LWD log quality control and petrophysical support for the Angola operations. Planning and supervising all the LWD data acquisition. I worked with Reliance Industries Limited (Exploration & Productions Company, India for 5 years. During my tenure with Reliance Industries Limited, I worked in both onshore / offshore (shallow & deepwater) projects (complex Clastic and Carbonate environments in Off-Shore, East and West Coast of India; such as low porosity & permeability, thin laminated shaly-sand reservoirs, and complex carbonate reservoirs). I have carried out formation evaluations for many wells which include basic log editing to advance processing & interpretation and writing formation evaluation reports.
Experience in interpreting of new technology tools like QBAT, ALD and GeoTap of Sperry Drilling-Halliburton; Wireline tools like Earth Imager, CBIL and 3DEX and LWD tools like AutoTrak, LithoTrak and SoundTrak of Baker Atlas and Schlumberger’s wireline tools like FMI, OBMI, CMR, ZAIT, Sonic Scanner and LWD tools like ISONIC, RAB, and ECOSCOPE. Integration of log data with other information such as conventional core data, sidewall cores, pressure data, mud cuttings etc., for better petrophysical results has been done extensively for many fields. Core member in Electromagnetic Survey project (CSEM/MTEM) both on onshore and offshore blocks. So far we have drilled two successful wells using this new advanced technology. Writing new equations and incorporating in processing for better petrophysical results is my strong point. Geo-Modeling has been carried out for one of the discovery block using Schlumberger’s Petrel software.
Planned many wireline and LWD logging programs and also witnessed logging during operations. Jobs such as Interpreting real time data, QC of log data and extracting, loading of DLIS, LIS, and LAS data files into Geolog, Open Works and GeoFrame System, INSITE software’s.
Having exposure in different fields of Exploration & Development, I am very confident that I possess the right enthusiasm, capability to serve any organization to the best of my knowledge.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
May, 2008-Present
Senior Petrophysicist with Sperry Drilling -Halliburton, Luanda, Angola.
KEY PROJECTS
• Working in deep & shallow water basins in West Coast (Block-15), Angola, (Client-Exxon Mobil), where major oil & gas field in deep waters has been discovered.
• Working in West Coast (Block-14), Angola (Client-Chevron).
• Gave presentation on QBAT (Sonic) tool in SPWLA forum on 15th April 2009 at Luanda, Angola.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Liaise with clients for Planning, Monitoring & Supervising of all LWD Operations.
• Coordinate with clients for effective drilling program implementation, collection of well data, compilation and future well program planning.
• Preparation of Revenue forecasts of LWD Post-Processing.
• Post-Processing of advance tools like ALD (density image & dip processing), GeoTap (Pressure Transient Analysis), and BAT & QBAT (sonic waveform processing) tools.
• Capture and document case histories or posters on LWD services and answer products provided to the customers and using this opportunity to promote new petrophysical solutions.
• Perform LQC briefing with MLWD engineers prior to them going to the well-site.
• Responsible of the LQC specific requirement documents of customers.
• Responsible for management and preservation of petrophysical data.
• Mentoring Jr. Log Analyst
June, 2003- April, 2008
Senior Petrophysicist with Reliance Industries Ltd (E&P)., Mumbai, India.
KEY PROJECTS
• Working in deep & shallow water basins in East Coast, India, where major oil & gas field in deep waters has been discovered.
• Working in shallow waters of Saurashtra offshore, West Coast, India, this led to discovery of hydrocarbons.
• Working in shallow & deep waters of Kerla-Konkan basin. Drilled one rank exploratory well in shallow waters, where we encountered very complex lithologies. Petrophysical interpretation is carried out very successfully. Predicted accurate velocities prior to VSP using sonic, density and Resistivity logs which were later corroborated with VSP results.
• Working in shallow waters of Gujarat-Saurashtra block, where we drilled two exploratory wells. I was involved in first exploratory well, which was very complex in nature like complex carbonate lithologies and vuggy porosities. First time logged Acoustic imaging along with Resistivity imaging, which helped us in better understanding of the reservoir.
• Worked in shallow waters of KG basin, East Coast, India. The geology was very complex in nature. Encountered oil bearing reservoirs in one of the drilled wells.
• Working in Non-Seismic tools (Electromagnetic Survey). We have drilled two successful wells integrating EM data with seismic data.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Formation Evaluation of Open/Cased hole logs and writing formation evaluation reports.
• Planning & Monitoring of Logging Operations.
• Interaction with Joint Venture partners for technical discussions and decision making for future working programs.
• Geological Modeling.
• Acquisition & Interpretation of Electromagnetic data and integrating with seismic for prospect evaluation.
• Involved in Request for Proposals (RFP) for Electro-Logging/LWD-MWD services.
Software skills:
• Major working experience with Paradigm’s application software Geolog & Schlumberger’s application software GeoFrame and Petrel.
• Familiarity with Baker Atlas software’s like Glider, RECALL.
• Basic modules of Powerlog.
• Halliburton’s InSite Software.
Industry Training:
• Advanced Formation Evaluation – Sandstones, (Network of Excellence in Training, conducted by Joe Johnston)
• Modern Production Logging, (Network of Excellence in Training, conducted by Dr. James Smolen)
• Training on Acquisition/ Processing /Interpretation, conducted by Mr. Ed Tree, ex President Amoco.
• Training on Mud-Logging for Geoscientists by GeoServices.
• Training on GeoFrame software applications(GeoFrame Fundamentals, Well Edit and Well Composite Plus, Litho ToolKit, PrePlus, ELANPlus, Well Pix and ResSum, Dip and Image Processing), conducted by SIS(Schlumberger Information Solutions)
• Safety Training (Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Personal Survival Techniques, Personal Safety, First Aid, and Helicopter Underwater Escape.)
