Duties: Lead a team of tactical operators in providing an armed response to threat and attacks made against the US Embassy. Provide protection for the personnel assigned to the embassy to include the United States Ambassador and his deputy. Provide protectection for Presidential staff while at the Embassy. Duties: As a senior investigator/supervisor, I was charged with leading a team of investigators to conduct site visits to various locations throughout the United States and abroad. Assignment: Deputy Chief of Police

Responsible for the day to day operations of the police department with a multi-million dollar budget, which included oversight of the patrol division, detective division, 911 call center, crime scene unit, property and evidence control and supervision of over 50 sworn and non-sworn personnel. I also assisted in the development and implementation of the step program; the departments outreach program to include monthly community meetings; the department’s first community advisory committee, jail facility, crime scene unit and the mentoring program; other assignment responsibilities include:

Internal Affairs- Investigate departmental police misconduct, monitor police training files and POST files

Grants and programs monitor, to include budget preparation and monitoring

Develop lesson plans for training in-house and at the police academy (certified police general instructor)

[2003-2004] Assignment: Interim Chief of Police

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the police department with a multi-million dollar operating budget, which included oversight of the patrol division, detective division and the 911 call center and supervision of over 25 personnel. As the interim chief of police I was tasked with reviewing the current departmental standards and make changes as necessary to move the direction of the police department down a path towards modern policing and being more community oriented. This included revisions to the following areas:

Training- Developed and implemented training schedules and documentation, revised all POST jackets and brought to current standards, Implemented hiring standards in accordance to state guidelines to include annual updated background investigations on all sworn personnel.

Policy and procedures- review and revised all departmental policy and procedures to include providing a copy to all personnel.

Grants and programs- reviewed and re-wrote departmental DOJ grants to utilize expired grants monies to give the department a facelift to include new uniforms, badges, and vehicles and equipment. Assigned personnel to monitor those grants. Evaluated programs for improvements and brought back programs such as the explorer program and restore relationships with surrounding agencies.

Initiated the departments first Locator System (Missing and Exploited Children computerized system) to provide a faster response for missing and abducted children.

Development of interagency agreements (IGA’s). Developing member of SARB (School Attendance Review Board) for the purpose of raising attendance at the local schools by community assistance and sanction for non-compliance. Member of the drug court judiciary team, provide assistance and sanctions to drug related offenders.
