Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project

Field Engineer

• Inspect rebar cages of bridge segments upon placing in molds according to the bar bending list and the reinforcement distribution stated in shop drawings.

• Inspect integrity of forms and any added accessories required to produce exact shape and design of bridge segments.

• Inspect the proper placement and secure positioning of all inserts required and supplied by main contractor (Dulles Transit Partners) to fulfill erection and design purposes. For example; lifting devices, Sound Wall inserts, electricity trays and drainage sleeves.

• Order and Inspect the proper placing of third party components in each segment required for post tension system. For example: Anchor heads, Post Tension bars and plates and Tendons ducts.

• Inspect bridge segments after pouring to report for any required repair, missing inserts, malfunction of accesosries that might occurred during conrete pouring of segment.

• Document any changes requested by main contractor and design representatives to the shop drawings in order to handover the As Built drawings of each bridge segment before shipping segment to the erection site .
