Lab Technician 1994 - 2009
Aseptically collected samples of raw materials, intermediate materials, Licaps, and finished capsules for microbiological testing. Prepared media for microbiological testing of materials and products. Prepared media according to the testing required, including FDA guidelines.
• Assisted microbiologists in performance of their duties, including setting up microbiological tests for interpretation by microbiologist.
• Reported problems and potential problems that may adversely affect the operation of the Micro Lab to the Lab Supervisor.
• Assisted in good housekeeping of the laboratory.
• Daily use of selective media (XLD, Bismuth, SABS, PCA, Brilliant Green, etc.).
• Environmental monitoring and testing is performed on a weekly, biweekly and monthly basis (sterile hoods, air sampling, equipment, etc.). Preparation and sterilization of all media used. Printing capsules, Dyes, Dip Dishes and GFT's.
• Presently on the Safety Audit Team (audited three Microbiology Classes; one at Lander University and two at Piedmont Technical College.
• Maintained accurate and precise records.
• Daily interaction with Customer Service, Demand Fulfillment, Scheduling, Licaps and outgoing QA Department.

Color Lab: cross training assignment to develop qualifications for senior level position
Color development, titanium dioxide verification; gelatin solution viscosity determination; use a computerized color analysis system - Macbeth.
