EDI Transmission Control Analyst (2002 – 2008)

Implemented EDI transmission set ups by creating sessions on the ISeries (AS400) along with physical files, directory paths and name patterns. Performed UAT with clients for new transmission set ups via pop3/smtp, https and ftp. Performed table changes on the server for inbound and outbound file transfer using Microsoft Access. Responsible for several upper management reports that were used for volume forecasting and goals and incentives.

 Successfully set up new clients for transmission of electronic files using several forms of protocol. Interfaced with clients for encryption key exchange and ftp site setups. Set up mapping and layout for new flat file types. Tested XML file layout for converting to ISERIES.

 Defined and provided technical solution for any EDI related business needs within business requirements, which included on-call duties and technical analysis for production issue resolution. Acted as technical lead for Disaster Recovery exercise.

 Created map files as needed using the AS400. Provided special research of mapped files and modified files as needed until client system could be corrected. Used Boxer Text Editor to research and modify files that were then ran through the EDI program.

 Served as technical lead on projects, providing testing support for development projects, new client implementations and ISERIES operating system and hardware upgrades.

 Acquired knowledge of electronic file layout concept, data management and file server application processing. Managed ISeries table moves and promotions to production.

 Performed quality control for peer moves and changes and acted as backup for ISeries Test Bed Analyst. Volunteered to proof read ISeries Knowledge Base web product.

 Daily prepared Excel spreadsheets for management to forecast system processing time for peak periods. Tracked numerous web sites system availability against company goals and measurements. Implemented process to track transmission errors that were used for team goals and incentives. Responsible for creating and maintaining file inventories for inbound and outbound transmissions that ranged over three thousand client files.

 Created test case scenarios and performed system testing when coding was added or changed in the EDI program.

Documentation Specialist/Report Specialist (2001 – 2002)

Managed transition of AS400 procedural documentation from WordPerfect to Microsoft Word and started the conversion of procedures to RoboHelp, web based product. Worked closely with Engineers and System Analysts to update system documents as needed.

 Successfully converted all previous WordPerfect electronic documentation to Microsoft Word. Continuously updated documentation as system was enhanced and additional features and menus were added.

 Used SnagIt software to add system screenshots to all the documentation and in doing so became very familiar with the product. Managed the beginning stages of converting to the RoboHelp, web based product before moving to new position.

 Created and manipulated data from system usage times to forecasting numbers to create an Excel Spreadsheet to forecast system Robot Job completion times during the several peak times of the education network.

Administrative Assistant to IT Director (1999 – 2001)

Supported the director and five managers for processing payroll, bills, expense reports and any presentations needed. Two months after starting job previous employer offered me full time position as database administrator, but continued to work part time as an admin.

 Overseen department timesheets and balanced with time management system. Managed contractor bills and expense reports for all managers.

 Formulated spreadsheets, presentations and quality management reports for director. Reviewed school reports for accuracy and consistency.

Barnett Inc, Jacksonville, FL(Barnett Brass & Copper) 1998 – 2001

Database Administrator/EDI Specialist (2000 – 2001)

Implemented creating on-line catalog for new company web site and excelled in comparing new entries to hard copy of catalog. Also trained for backup EDI specialist to the EDI programmer to monitor and assist with mapping of 810 & 850 for catalog purchases.

 Monitored and assisted with mapping of EDI files between Barnett and client purchases using mainly the 810, 880, 997 & 850 layout.

 Used the Vendor Management system called Goldmine for setting up clients.

 Assisted in developing on-line catalog along with sales advertisements and changes as needed. Proofed current catalog and flagged any discrepancies that were found and revised for the web site.

 Worked closely with management and the vendor to create hot keys and codes for unusual characters that were part of the product description.

 Trained part-time help on adding entries to the database.

Product Development Marketing Assistant (1998 – 1999)

Supported and assisted General Merchandising Manager, Marketing Manager and Product Managers in developing advertising pages, updating catalogs and updating mainframe system.

 Overseen spreadsheet analysis of product costs and competitor comparisons and updated mainframe with any updates as needed. Included in this was exporting data from the mainframe into Monarch and researching sales and marketing trends.
