EXPERIENCE
08/14/95 -11/18/08 The Oilgear Company Milwaukee, WI
MANAGER, SPECIAL ACCOUNTS, Novi Field Office
• Re-established Oilgear as a key supplier to automotive manufacturers.
1. Sold system upgrade packages totaling approximately $1,350,000 to Chrysler stamping plants for existing Oilgear cushion systems. That amount includes a $430,000 project that I wrote, sold and managed for Chrysler’s Mexico Stamping Plant.
2. Provided 11 years of reliable system performance and superior customer support on 34 metal presses for GM’s Metal Fabricating Division. Those efforts founded a relationship resulting in a $1,400,000 order of system retrofit packages. The completed order will upgrade more than 15 IHI stamping presses in the U.S.
3. Designed and implemented preventive maintenance program on Oilgear NC cushion systems at Ford’s Dearborn and Chicago Stamping Plants.
• Specialized in aftermarket sales and service to user industrial facilities.
1. Provided service, parts, repair, and training to ensure continued customer satisfaction and loyalty. For example, Chase Brass & Copper Company Inc. would purchase an average of $125,000 annually in repair business alone.
2. Worked with key personnel at Chase Brass to ensure their (estimated) $200,000 spare inventory was “as new,” correctly identified, and on their shelf.
3. Developed and conducted oil sampling program for GM Piquette Truck Plant. This service reduced customer repair costs and downtime noticeably.
4. Worked with automotive customers’ accounting personnel to resolve invoice and receivable issues typical of large automotive accounts.
• Collaborated with customer training departments preparing and instructing custom, in-plant training classes to meet the requirements. Each training package focused on various hydraulic systems as specified by each plant. Class sizes varied from between 2 and 15 students and sold for up to $50,000 per package.
1. Training packages might include lecture, custom text material and simulator software, as well as hands-on learning, for each participant.
2. Chrysler, Mexico’s training consisted of two weeks of on-site sessions including component purpose and operation, system theory, troubleshooting methodology, and maintenance requirements.
• Conducted international and domestic business transactions at all customer levels, from CEO to mechanic.
• Wrote and met annual sales budgets listing each line item by product code.
1. Annual sales budget typically reflected expectation of $1,500,000. These budget totals included sales of each product code, repairs, service, training, upgrade packages, and new systems to both existing and new customers.
