ACTIVITY

Installation, servicing, repairs, maintenance and general electrical maintenance

1-Installation, A/C Installation - In the first box, you will find the interior unit of the Air-conditioner system together with a remote-control and water drainage pipe.

You need to remove the wall-bracket to position on the wall and after install the wall bracket

Carefully make the place where the hole will drill

Measure the dimension of the pipe package and mark the wall support, measure the center of the pipe to the bottom of the system, use that measurement to mark on the wall again.

Now take a drilling machine to drill a hole carefully at angle of 35, before the unit will fix, you need to tape the drainage pipe together of refrigerant pipes with electrical cable for easier to pass through the hole.

In the second box, you will find the system/Outdoor unit together with connecting pipes, finishing cover, a rolling thermal tape……

Before fixing the system, you need measure the length of the system seat between the first and the second, and mark the wall where the system stand/wall bracket will fix. Before fixing the system stand/wall bracket, if the wall is solid, use mental wall plug supply and if the wall is hollow-blocks, use chemical sealed wall plug.

After install the system, you now needs to connect the connecting pipes together with indoor unit and outdoor unit by tighten them with care. Use Allan-key to open the valves for gas to flow through the pipes and after that, use soap water to check leakage, then use the take to take all the pipe and finally connect wires to correct positions, e.g. blue to blue, please measure the voltage before you can plug the system for testing.

NOTE: Never installed the system at direct sunlight, wine path, water area and make sure water drainage pipe slope down-ward.

Some times during the installation you need to add pipe like 6 to 12feets or more than, if that need to happen, you need short the capillary by some percentage that can feet the system and sometimes you need to add gas, adding more refrigerant which sometimes will result, the compressor will over-heat, more current/amps will be drawing during operation.

In case if the system is using Thermostatic expansion, you need to adjust it and if it is Automatic expansion valve, that one can work by itself or u need to change it ...........ect.

2-Air-conditioning servicing, A/C Servicing indoor unit –before dismantling, you need to pump-down refrigerant not to escape or not loose. First dismantling and cleaning a wall Mounted Air Conditioner Unit, The Mounting bracket and piping after removing the air con and close the pipes so that no moisture, water or any things not allow to enter the pipes.

The electronic assembles and the blower fan motor needs to remove from the main unit, this is to prevent water not to enter the fan-motor or splash on the electronic board, that will cause damage to them.

3-Maintenance, SAFETY FIRST

Before working on your air conditioner, please be a ware of the following rules.

•Have moving parts that can be cut, pinch, entangle or hurt you.

•Are electrically powered and used high level of current to function, and electricity can burn, shock or kill you

•Contained a capacitor that hold an electrical charged which can hunt you.

•Contain a pressure refrigerant lines, if broken it will cause injury or frostbite from rapidly escaping refrigerant.

To maintain an Air-conditioner to work how it was design, first you need to disconnect the power supply and remove the system from where it was installed with care.

Now you need to un-screw the system for purpose of maintenance, look round on the condenser fins that did a scale build-up build on the condenser piping/fins and if it is only dirt/dust you see, use an air compressor to blow the dirt/dust away and secondary use brush chemical pipe cleaner to clean the pipes (Evaporator and condenser pipes). Look round the fans motor, if the motor-bearing needs greens or if the bearing needs replacement.

Check the running and starting capacitors to make sure they are still in good condition, you also need to check electrical cable and compressor terminal wires.

Finally check the socket, plug or if it was a switch and the system casing need to be clean.

You can now test the Air-Conditioner and during testing you need to check the compressor noise if is too much making noise, then is need to replace and be sure that drawing correct amps.

4- Repairs, I replace compressors that burn-out, loose-pumping, motor-winding looses its capacity to operate anymore or bridge with compressor housing or compressor drawing more amps.

If I am about to replace a compressor that burn-out, I normally find the correct size or a little beat above the one that burn-out, and if I have to fix the one that is above/big than the first one, from there, I increase the condensing fan speed to give me correct condensation if not I will have poor condensation and

I know that if the refrigerant is too-much condensed, it will result poor cooling and I measure I walk according to the manufacture rules and regulation.

5- Motors repairs, I repair condensing fan-motor and blower-motor, normally if those fans stop working and I used multi-range meter to checks the winding reading and I go through the one that is not reading and finally I have saw that its motor protector that have short circuit, I do myself.

I used capacitor-analysis/meter to check the motor capacitors to see either it loose it working capacity/conditions.

6-Compressor servicing, I have been servicing serviceable/open-type of compressors, in either valve break-up or loose pumping occur, I have experience in servicing it but I don’t manufacture compressor.

Before I will replace a compressor, I normally check the the compressor pumping, oil/lubricant, follow by if it will be over-heated/temperature, also good sound/noise.

7-Electrical, I don’t wait for electrician to come if I am working and electrical fault occur, if I am working in air condition system and electrical fault occur I solve that myself and I have been wiring houses under low-voltages (from,1000, 240, 200 and 120 volts), that lead me to know much about electrical connections/wiring's.

8- Motherboard, I repairs A/C controlled board if it have problem; I check the conditions of the component that is on the board and replace the one that looses it capacity than it will start controlling the A/C.

9-Heat pump, I use the same method for heat pump because there is know too much difference between Air-conditioning and Heat-pump, the only difference is “Changed over” in seasoning but the Air-conditioning cannot.

And they are all using the same four components with little bit of valve difference, Heat-pump use four or three way-valve with extra or additional valves but Air-conditioning used one type valve.

10- Heating/heater installation, Is not good to put-on you’re Air-conditioning system when the ambient temperature drop to zero degree, therefore what you need is heating or warm-air.

I measure that after heater installation, thermostat need to work properly to put it (off and on) and the switch must be correct calculated, blower also need pull correct air over the heating element.

11-Refrigeration, I repair freezers fridges, and even if it is internal leakage I work on it/re-build it.

The time I am in refrigeration training center, leaning refrigeration and air condition I also having self practicing for internal leakage repairing for freezers and it go like this:

I remove the aluminum plate that cover the leaking pipe, after that I take off the leaking pipe to and buy new copper to replace it, so after the coiling I buy new aluminum plate and cut it according or like the old and finally I fix it in the freezer like the first but before covering the pipe I first check leakage and after all that, vacuums the system and charge the system with the refrigerant that was written on the compressor nameplate.
