Participated in design of automated burn-in chamber for 3.5” hard drive, including sheetmetal enclosure, slide guides for inserting drives into fixture, eject mechanism for removing drives from fixture.
Participated in many pre-production disk drive builds at overseas factory
Responsible for correcting production issues (design, quality, process, etc.) at overseas factory for 3.5” disk drive products
Resolved customer integration and quality issues
Responsible for many environmental and performance tests during the development of 3.5” disk drive products, including humidity time constant, temperature and contamination sensitivity, VCM performance, crash stop, spindle performance. Performed environmental and emitted vibration, acoustic testing.
Close to a year accumulated time at Panasonic’s MKE Ipponmatsu Disk Drive assembly facility during product development to help develop mechanical assembly processes and failure analysis during Pre Production builds. Also traveled to Ipponmatsu during production builds if problems developed needing Quantum engineering support.
Design of Windows programs for use as interface between data collection devices, signal processors, signal generators and a host computer. Programs were designed to provide a user friendly interface for the operator, automate data collection and store results to disk for later analysis.
