Trail rides, saddle horses, tend to the needs of the guest, teach team penning, roping, riding skills, as well as, performing ranch chores like fixing fence, tending to the medical needs of the horses and cattle, lunging, feeding stock and cleaning stalls.
Experience:
I have graduated from Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School, known as COAGS. I can ride, drive, and trim hoofs and pack. Care for horses/mules giving shots, first aid, lunge and some training. I have two animals of my own, a quarter horse and a mule. My mule drives my buckboard as well as rides. My quarter horse has had both reining and cutting training.
Current and Past Jobs/Responsibilities:
December 1986 – October 1, 2008 (early retirement) Computer Operations Manager – Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District.
Supervise all Data Center personnel and insure production jobs run according to schedules. Investigate hardware and software needs. Recommend, purchase, and install hardware. Monitor computer performance and determine hardware and or software needs. Write and evaluate bids. Evaluate contracts for MSD’s signature. Plan and prepare yearly budget.
Accomplishments:
Developed and activated the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s “Problem and Change Management Procedures” to qualify for IBM’s Customer Service Agreement (CSA).
Researched, developed and implemented the Metropolitan St. Louis District’s Information Systems Disaster Recovery Plan.
Currently establishing a Help Desk using “Heat” from FrontRange for internal use.
Completed and Passed the Disaster Recovery Plan course and test at Disaster recovery Institute at Washington University – CSDP’s Professional Development Program.
Continuing to eliminate the use of outsourcing printed documents due to our capabilities with the Xerox laser printer.
Certified in Visual Basic 6 and Web Page Design “FrontPage.” Also, knowledgeable concerning PC’s and various software applications with some network responsibilities.
Currently the DBA for Document Imaging “Laserfiche” and an in-house developed software package called ScanData.
In the process of converting from IBM to Unix for Finance, Payroll and Billing.
Currently going through Training for Unix: AIX Desktop Environment for Users, AIX System Administration, AIX Basics, AIX TCP/IP Communications
Purchased and installed a 50 kva Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) as well as, the a/c unit that supports the UPS.
Project Leader for the Heating, Ventilation and Cooling System.
Added an additional room to the Data Center including a Halon system, raised floor and A/C.

Responsibilities:
Supervised all operation personnel, equipment and data entry on the assigned shift. Supervised batch, test and parallel processing. Scheduled workloads. Coordinated all vendor maintenance activity inside and outside the computer room. Enforced security measures due to unauthorized access. Screened and selected new employees. Trained and supervised the training of subordinates. Monitor CICS, TSO, DATACOM, Trickle Polling, VTAM, ROSCOE and the Credit Authorization System. Trickle Polling was the process of polling each store of its data all day long, enabling us to shutdown the stores and begin batch processing by midnight.

Assisted in the DOS to MVS conversion in 1982/83 and the relocation of Ventures main Office from Northwest Plaza to O’Fallon Missouri in 1985.
