My background consists of holding the position of Purchasing Manager along with other roles for a manufacturer of folding cartons. Throughout my experience, I was recognized for my expertise in managing all areas of the purchasing department including starting up the first purchasing infrastructure for this company. Additionally, I demonstrated an expertise in leading multi-million dollar projects for our Fortune 500 customers, and initiating and implementing new systems to streamline and produce more efficient internal operations.

Manage 20 employees (general laborers) in all areas of packaging and kiln operations. Hire and train new employees.
Eliminated and replaced existing operator with a new employee, increasing our production by up to 15%.

In charge of overall production operations with 90 non-union employees (three shifts) and a 70,000 sq. ft. production facility. Responsible for all the purchasing for multiple plants, process improvements, customer pricing, estimating, job costing and executive reporting. Coordinated a wide range of functions for various client projects. Led eight direct reports (Shipping Manager, Prepress Manager, two Supervisors, Estimator, Scheduler, and two Customer Service Professionals). Hired and trained new employees. Troubleshot and resolved a wide range of operational and production issues.
Managed and controlled procurement spend of $12 - $15 million annually in raw materials, including paperboard and corrugated cases.
Switched our main board supplier, which reduced costs by 10% and increased our production output.

Launched a purchasing program – a first for the company. Previously there were no budget constraints, and employees in different departments were ordering with no standardized cost guidelines. Overall effort reduced purchasing costs by up to 15%.
Worked with Finishing department to increase speeds in production by determining the best material to purchase.
Successfully led client projects including: Disney, GE Lighting, Panera Bread, Hollister Inc. (a pharmaceutical manufacturer), as well as other small accounts. Projects ranged up to $1M for various individual clients.
Brought lost customer back on board (a six figure account). Personally provided individual attention, resulting in new revenue.
Changed quoting systems from full cost to variable costing.
