Drug interdiction certified. Have conducted national inspection campaigns such as ROADCHECK 97, 98, 99, two national cargo tank inspection efforts and taken part in three border trade studies. Conducted 21 informational outreach seminars for Mexican Motor Carriers in the U.S. and in Mexico, in English and in Spanish. Assisted numerous Mexican based Motor Carriers in obtaining motor carrier operating authority, RSPA registration and U.S. DOT registration. Two years Over-The-Road truck driving for three different Motor Carriers. Experience in 47 of the lower 48 States (missed Road Island) transporting various commodities and hazardous materials in vans and on flat-bed/step-deck trailers. Well versed in load securement requirements, placarding, labeling, shipping papers, and driver record of duty status/ hours of service laws and regulations.

1981-1994

U.S. Army

Infantryman/Motorcycle Scout/Sniper, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Recovery Supervisor, Shop Foreman, Motor Sergeant.

 1981, 3 ½ years as an Infantryman and Motorcycle Reconnaissance Scout with additional duties as Company Sniper/Explosive Ordinance Reconnaissance with the 101st Airborne Division. Deployed on Operation Ocean Venture, Puerto Rico, Deployed to Panama, Deployed to the Sinai desert Egypt, as part of the Multi-National Peace Keeping and Observation Force (MFO) Served as Unit land mine detection and destruction team member/leader and forward observer/sniper. Have worked closely with Army and Navy units from many countries on several continents.

 In 1985, changed Military Occupational Specialty to Heavy Wheel Vehicle Mechanic assigned to 4th Infantry Division at Ft Carson Co. as a Recovery Specialist/Shop Foreman responsible for all shop and recovery operations, safety and quality assurance inspections.

 1987, Re-assigned to 56th FA Command (Pershing Nuclear Missile Battalion) Neu-Ulm, Germany as Maintenance Supervisor responsible for all quality assurance and Hazardous Materials safety compliance inspections on nuclear missile handling equipment (cranes and forklifts), 7 million dollars of shop equipment, 5 vehicles and 9 personnel. Implemented more stringent inspection criteria and verification program for missile-handling cranes’ conducted training for maintenance supervisors of other units in safe and proper accident recovery practices and procedures. Worked closely with the German government representatives to ensure compliance with all hazardous material storage, transportation and handling requirements. Assisted the German engineers that designed and built the equipment for the U.S. Army to reconfigure and retrofit the recovery/retrieval system, which greatly enhanced its safety and performance. Awarded the Army Achievement Medal.

 1989, Re-assigned to 2nd Armor Division Ft Hood Texas as a Motor Sergeant/Recovery Operations Supervisor for a Field Artillery Battalion’s Service Company. Responsible for all scheduled maintenance on Battalion equipment and for the health, welfare and training of 11 personnel, 16 million dollars of shop equipment and 8 vehicles. Deployed to Desert Shield/Desert Storm, oversaw all maintenance and recovery operations for the Battalion throughout operational area. Worked closely with Saudi, British, French and other nation’s military services to achieve mission goals. Awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Joint Services Medal, Kuwaiti liberation Medal, Navy Unit Citation,

 1991, Re-assigned to the 1st Armor Division Mannheim, Germany as Shop Foreman/ Service Supervisor/ Recovery Supervisor, responsible for all scheduled services, quality assurance inspections, driver/supervisor Hazardous Materials certification trainer, a crew of 14 personnel, 5 vehicles and 14 million dollars in shop equipment and parts. Trained Battalion Recovery teams in all aspects of Battle Field recovery operations. Assisted in the planing and implementation of the Battalion’s re-deployment to Ft. Lewis, WA. Supervised all pre-shipment vehicle servicing and final inspections.
