Research Project/M.Sc. Dissertation
The aim of the project was to make genome wide characterization of SSR distribution and to find the associated genes with the SSRs in context of evolution of 12 species. The outcome of the experiment indicated that there is no correlation between SSR density and genome size of the studied species. In the 12 studied species drosophila mojavensis is having highest SSR density and drosophila schellia having least SSR density although their genome sizes are more. I worked on Perl.
Projects Completed
Project 1– Molecular characterization of bacteria degrading Organophosphorous pesticide Chlorpyrifos – an invitro to insilico approach.
Duration- 2 months (Feb 2011 – March 2011) supervised by Dr.Ravi Kumar, IBS, Vijaywada
Results – Novel Flavobacterium species of bacteria was isolated from chilly field, which can degrade the chlorpyrifos upto 61.2% in 5 hours, which is preliminary observation, by using ribotyping process.
Project 2 - Mycobacterium species genome comparison survey, Microarray probe designing and validation assay design using Real-time-PCR.
Duration – 6 months (Jan 2010 – June 2010 supervised by Mr. Anuraj Nayresseri, Eminent Biosciences, Indore.
Results – Twenty probes were designed from sixteen pathogenic mycobacterium species, which can be used for creating microarray chips for detection of disease genes.
Project 3 - Structure based drug designing on Mycobacterium tuberculosis targeting cyclopropane –fatty acyl phopholipid synthase 2- An In silico analysis.
Duration – 8 months (Jan 2009 – Aug 2009) supervised by Mr. Anuraj Nayresseri, Eminen Biosciences, Indore.
Results – Screening of five drugs gentamycin, rifampin, prednisone, sreptomycin and kanamycin , and ADME studies shows that rifampin act as highly effective inhibior for Cyclopropane–fatty-acyl-phopholipid synthase.
