Research Experience
2006 – 2007 ALMS: Study of Cellcept (mycophenolate mofetil) in management of patients with lupus nephritis
ASCEND: To determine the effects of avosentan on doubling of serum creatinine, end stage renal disease and death in diabetic nephropathy – The purpose of this study is to determine whether avosentan is effective in reducing morbidity and mortality in patients with diabetic nephropathy
SHARP: Study of heart and renal protection – the main aim of this study is to test whether reducing blood cholesterol with a combination tablet, containing ezetimibe and simvastatin, can prevent heart disease and strokes in patients with kidney disease. This trial will also study the effect on blood cholesterol levels of combining ezetimibe and simvastatin, compared to simvastatin alone and also to study other potential effects of lowering blood cholesterol.

NDSM is a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, financial aid, medical care and other assistance to Dallas residents. I was a medical volunteer working under Dr Adrian Salazar supervision. My responsibilities included:
