Professional Experience Summary
Company name: NeST Information technologies 2006-2010
Title Parcel mapping - Washington County
Client Name Michael Baker Corp
Position GIS Analyst (Part of delivery team)
Description: Parcel mapping services is one of the most important aspects of Geographic Information System (GIS). Parcel mapping services are usually done and delivered in a digital format and then to an assessment database. The software used for this purpose is ArcGIS 9.3 and AUTOCAD 2009.
This project evolved with the generation of Parcels, Lots, Survey Numbers, Water lines & Roads, streams, river with High Flight Orthophoto, Georeferenced images & integration with the available data for enhancing the revenue on Tax collection.
Responsibilities
• Requirements gathering and Analysis
• Observed aerial images to identify and understand important business, topographical data
• Migration of parcel polygons, Boundary lines, road networks from AutoCAD to ArcGIS 9.3(geodatabase)
• Lot Number migration.
• Analysis done by using Merge,Union,Extract,Overlay etc.
• Quality checked by the completed digitized files based on checklists.
• Used Address geocoder for finding data fromgeodatabase
• Completion of back end data using SQL queries
• Database Completion
• Digitization of parcel polygons, Road netwoks, streams, rivers, Boundary Lines based on Ortho evidence and tax maps from Land survey system.
• Parcel checked with reference to the Parcel Identification Number(PIN)
• PIN compared by using PIN Comparison Tools.
• Created UI Button for comparing the PIN (Parcel Identification Number) with the help of macros.
• Analysis done by using selection queries(Select by attribute and select by location)
• Georeferenced orthophotos with the help of spatial adjustment techniques in AutoCAD as well as ArcGIS 9.3
Title Tract production
Client Name Michael Baker Corp
Position GIS Analyst
Responsibilities
• Observed aerial images to identify and understand important business, topographical data
• Quality Analyzed by the completed digitization files
• Created COGO as per the map information
• Used Geocoding process for locationg different places in maps as well as matching tables.
• Georeferenced orthophotos with the help of spatial adjustment techniques
• Created different UI buttons for user friendliness with the help of VB Scripting and macros.
• Migration of parcel polygons with various customized tools
• Explored the arcgis 9.3 tools
• Digitization of Parcel Polygon, Road Networks,Boundary line.
• Working experience with editing of easements, water lines, sewer line, mobility lines etc.
• Used geocoding techniques
• Prioritize the lines in attribute table as per the client request.
• Conducted project based seminars as a part of Functional Control Group
Title KARAMA(Pipeline)
Client Name Qatar Govt
Position GIS Analyst/QC Analyst
Responsibilities
• Worked on a pipeline project contracted by Middle East Based Country mainly in Qatar area. I was the Quality Control Analyst for this project during which the technicians on the project were digitizing existing paper sources into AM/FM GIS mapping resources.
• They were using standard 17"x22" plat maps for reference and they were digitizing the materials, individual lengths, fittings, pumping station details, depths for buried pipeline, and all other attributes associated with pipelines including right of way details.
• Digitized the land based features such the lease data for property the pipeline went thru. Each plat had to be edge matched to each other to insure accuracy and all features had to be verified with existing feature database.
• My responsibilities were to go over each plat data and insure all information was recorded correctly and that all edge matching was completely accurate and to send back corrections and verify they were completed.
• Did lease mapping utilizing meets and bounds descriptions of individual lots for ROW mapping.
• Wrote evaluations and performance guidelines for my team; which that data was later utilized in the raise review process.
• Utilized Microsoft Access, Excel, Power Point and Outlook programs daily and created presentations for quarterly progress meetings using Microsoft Power Point.
Title Road Capturing and Updation Project (ArcGIS 9.3)
Client Name Michael Baker Corp
Position GIS Analyst (Part of Delivery team)
Description: The aerial photos, ortho rectified images received from the client are being used for updating the database continuously and also attributes are attached to it. The data is seen through the aerial photo in conjunction with secondary source, which consists of following updates.
Road network: Centerlines, split roads, cul-de-sec roads, overpasses, ramps, bridges, Park features and Rail network.
Information about residential apartments, commercial, industrial, playgrounds and school buildings from the aerial photos is used as reference for processing the road network. The job involves repositioning and reclassification of wrongly classified roads, addition of missing roads, reclassification of wrongly classified data, removing extra attribute data etc. The client supplies the base data as a raster along with the digitized maps of countries. Need to updates the obsolete vector data supplied by client. Field checking is done for any errors and will do the necessary correction. An important feature of the project is the use of loops (Magnifying glass) to identify the minute details from the aerial photos such as the intersection of roads etc.
Responsibilities
• Updation of the existing Geodatabase
• Quality checked by the updated files.
• Digitized files with advanced editing tools like split, fillet, smooth, divide etc.
• Georeferencing of raster images.
• Addition of missing roads.
• Worked with attribute Tables.
• Digitized missing roads as well as proposed roads with the reference of orthophotos
• Georeferencing of raster images with respect to the existing geodatabase.
• Splitting of Road Networks
• Digitized Road Networks like centrelines, split roads, cul-de-sac roads, overpasses, ramps, bridges, parking lots and rail networks.
• Attribute updation in database.
Title Flood Mapping
Client Name CESS
Position GIS Engineer
Flood Mapping is a vital element for appropriate land use planning in flood-prone areas. It creates easily-read, rapidly-accessible charts and maps which facilitates the administrators and planners to identify areas of risk and prioritize their mitigation/ response efforts .We at NeST concentrated our work on the digitization of those zones graded accordingly using ArcGIS 9.3
Responsibilities
• Performed digital mapping exercises.
• Creation of flood hazard database with reference to published firm panels. The scope includes Geo-referencing the base maps with reference to street reference, flood depth data capturing, and attribute mapping.
• Providing precise and exact information i.e. owners name, parcel no, legal description, section, township, range, so that they can provide the flood insurance certificate to the customers.
• Marking and labeling the area under different zones like clear, flooded, partially flooded not surveyed as per specifications provided by the client.
• Digitization of parcels, buildings, ponds, roads, streams etc
