PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
MCI/UUNET
Alpharetta, GA Nov. 2000 – Feb. 2011
Network Implementation (Title change only) – I design and enter orders for the following
type circuits: DS3’s, T1’s and DS0’s. These circuits involve the EDN (enhanced dial network)
off to on-net project, and the VOIP & AOL projects. I’ve worked on planned line cost saving
projects, by disconnecting thousands of circuits where I was a contributor in saving the company
millions of dollars.
Traffic Engineer/Team Lead – My responsibilities include: reading capacity plans &
forecast for various cities within Central Region territory. I determine the priority of which
locations to order and/or disconnect T1 and/or DS3 circuits by utilization reports & by looking at
the timeframe in which the site has been blocking.
I request LEC cost for T1 & DS3 circuits and decide if it’s more cost efficient to order individual
T1’s or a new DS3. I create Excel spreadsheets and share the updates with my project manager
and my LEC rep. I attend conference calls regarding the status of my orders and usually take the
lead in directing the flow of the call.
I also have groom projects where I choose the minimum routing it takes for network optimization.
This involves checking price quotes for the most cost effective way to route existing T1 circuits.
