Provide instructional leadership in the area of curriculum development, student assessments and using data from these assessments to drive instruction. In addition, I developed a student discipline management system that resulted in positive student behavior. I worked with the central office staff on the planning, development and implementation of the school's budget, selection of staff, in-service programs, and conducted faculty and staff performance observations.

EKA is a public charter school located in Henderson NV. As the Executive Director, I am charged with ensuring that every student who graduates from Explore Knowledge is college ready. This mission is accomplished by developing mentorship programs and partnering with local and community business leaders who assist in exposing students to the academic world and helping them gain successful opportunities that are oftentimes not available to students who are socially and academically challenged. In addition, I am responsible for the financial health of the organization ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all state, local and federal accounting guidelines.
As the instructional leader, I also mentored and trained new teachers and provided staff development opportunities to ensure faculty and staff were on the cutting edge of the latest trends of instructional pedagogy.

As the instructional leader I was responsible for one clinician, 17 teachers 7 Para professionals 2 office personnel and one assistant principal. During a 65-70 hour work week I spent 45% mentoring teachers and working on curriculum, 30% student discipline 15 % working with parents and local agencies and 10% meeting with board of directors and other educational stake holders.

2002-2006 Assistant Principal, Desert Hills High School Gilbert AZ
Desert Hills is a public charter high school with a diverse student population. Working in concert with the school principal, I supervised five office staff, 2 school resource officers, one academic counselor, one mentor teacher and 30 certified and classified staff. During a 60-hour workweek, I was charged with the following tasks: curriculum and instruction, student discipline, graduation audits, student attendance, teacher mentoring, conducting formal evaluations and meeting with local community and business leaders.

• As an administrator at Desert Hills, I ensured the school consistently made AYP
• I started a night school program with a distant learning component using A Plus learning software that increased enrollment and revenue while keeping cost down.
• I was responsible for the increase in parent involvement by creating a parent university and PTO.
• As a result of my marketing techniques the school became part of the community and was view not as an alternative school but a viable educational opportunity for students.
• Established a dual education program with local institutions of higher learning for students to earn credit for college courses while completing their high school education.
• Mentored students, teachers, and parents to achieve goals as well as utilize appropriate problem solving techniques
• Worked and assisted the dance and cheer coaches with fundraising project that allowed the dance and cheer team to perform at the Holiday bowl in San Diego. California.
• I was featured in a local publication “ Gilbert Guardian” for my work in improving student attendance and working with at risk students
• I created a criminal Justice program that resulted in a celebrative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies and as a result of taking this class, attendance increased and discipline referral decreased and seniors who were given internship with local law enforcement agencies.
