• Master trainer in safety, industrial hygiene, fire safety, environmental and emergency preparedness.

• Program and project management experience to include budgetary and operations briefings, SOW, proposals, SOPs development, etc.

• BS in Environmental Sciences and graduate studies in Industrial Hygiene, Public Health and Emergency Response. Currently enrolled in an Emergency Preparedness Management Graduate Program.

WORK HISTORY:

April 2010 to Present Senior Industrial Hygienist/ Safety and Project Safety and Health Officer, CSC Hanford Occupational Health Services/MCE/MACTEC – Provide technical oversight of various site-wide programs (Beryllium, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, ergonomics, industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring, etc.). Prepare reports and correspondence; review laboratory analysis, provide consultations to occupational health providers. Recommend: sampling/monitoring to include medical surveillance and engineering/administrative controls. Performed accident investigations, root cause analysis and oversight of site-wide industrial hygiene program elements (hearing conservation, vision conservation, confined space monitoring, and chemical exposure monitoring and analysis). Fire and emergency response for various projects.

March 2009 to March 2010 Safety Supervisor - CSA LTD – Duties and responsibilities include: Conducting safety inspections, surveys and audits. Perform IH studies to include hearing conservation, heat stress, confined space, IAQ, chemical hygiene, laboratory safety, respiratory protection, and radiation audits. Provide oversight of JHAs process, root cause analysis, review JHAs documentation for existing positions and prepare JHAs for new operations. Jan 2008 to February 2009 ESH Supervisor – ITT GMASS TO2 - Duties and responsibilities include: Supervise ESH staff to include making and reviewing assignments. Develop and conduct in-service, employee and orientation training. Review and/or perform safety/ environmental audits, industrial hygiene monitoring, accident investigations, and surveys. Make recommendations for abatement of deficiencies. Performed initial JHAs on new operations to include identification of hazards, assessment of hazards, development of controls and risk decisions, implementation of controls and evaluation process. Duties and responsibilities include the establishment of an Industrial Hygiene and ESH training programs to include JHAs (for management and supervisors), hazardous material handling, hazardous waste handling, storage and disposal, environmental regulations, biohazards, confined space, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, ergonomics, slips/trips/falls, and other subjects. October 2004 to February 2007 US Army Medical Department – Recalled to Active Duty - CBRNE and Senior Industrial Hygiene Project Officer. Performed duties and responsibilities as the command (world-wide) senior CBRNE office. Chaired the CBRNE committee and prepared program documents. While serving in the Senior Industrial Hygiene Project Officer position developed a proposal to determine if current established safe operating practices, oversee physical security for command, engineering controls were providing adequate protection for healthcare workers handling, preparing and administrating cytotoxic drugs. I prepared a successful research proposal, several briefing presentations, a statement of work, two contract proposals, a project quality assurance plan, a sampling and analysis strategy document and a final research paper.

September 2003 to September 2004 Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Quality and Environmental Trainer - CSA - Camp Doha and Camp Arifjan. Developed and provided classroom training for military and civilian contractors to meet regulatory guidance. Perform audits/evaluations to determine training requirements. Responsible for technical support to DOE Tank Safety Division in management of a government owned contractor operated chemical process/storage facility to include performing program/project management responsibilities for emergency response to include assessments, training and drills. Performed industrial hygiene and safety review of project work packages and site preparations. Reviewed JHAs prepared by contract and perform oversight of the implemenation. Oversight responsibilities for tank farm construction projects and ESHQ programs to include behavior based program implementation and monitoring. Performed safety, IH, accident investigations, PPE determinations, and environmental assessments supervised TSD facility and hazardous material management programs. Established a chemical hygiene program, laboratory hood certification program, ergonomics program, HAZCOM program, biosafety program, and a center-wide database. Chaired the Safety and Radiological Safety Committees. Established a model forklift training/certification program; designed a warehouse and established a satellite HAZMAT team.
