2010-2011 The University of Manchester: M.sc Electrical Power Systems Engineering.(Merit)
Modules of study:
Power System Modeling Smart Grids & Sustainable Energy Systems
Power System Analysis Power System Protection
Power System economics Power System Dynamics & Quality of supply
Power System Plant, Asset Management, Condition Making
Dissertation Project with Siemens Transmission and Distribution Limited, UK on “Wind Park grid connection optimization” has intensified my theoretical knowledge and enhanced my industrial exposure. The appreciated power point presentation and highly marked final report demonstrated the oral and written communication skills.
The project described the technique to optimize the off-shore wind farm using the full converter wind-farm and the reactive compensation devices and the load flow studies were conducted keeping the voltages under limits. The results were analyzed and a scope of future algorithm was proposed to the company by using their Spectrum Power CC SCADA software which will maximize their profit in future.
The modules gave me the theoretical and analytical knowledge of the subject. The practical coursework of designing the system, economics in power system, design of overhead lines and the creative concepts used in the exercises enhanced my creativity and thorough understanding in the subject.
2006-2010 Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha …………….University, Delhi: Bachelor of Technology (Electrical and Electronics Engg)
Result: 77.4 %( Degree with Distinction)
The concepts of Power Systems, Electrical Machines and Electronic Devices were introduced which made the generation and transmission of electricity my favorite subject. The HVDC substation visit during the course gave practical understanding of working of substation.
The academic project ‘Designing Power Quality meter in Labview’ gave me understanding of the concepts of voltage sag and swell and to analyse them on Labview (National Instruments) software. The meter recorded the disturbances and events in the form of graphical waveforms so that a further solution may be provided to the consumer to revamp power available at site.
The project work gave me a spirit of teamwork and taught me time management skills which have not only helped me in achieving good grades in the written as well as verbal presentation of the project but also enhanced my working capability.
