Title APPLICATION OF GEOMATICS FOR ESTIMATION OF DAILY
ACTUAL EVAPOTRANSPIRATION
Synopsis Satellite images provide a powerful tool for the identification of crops and
When used in conjunction with geographical information systems (GIS)
have proved to be effective for land use and water management. The
exchanges of radiative, heat and moisture fluxes affect the biosphere and
various irrigation process, and estimation of crop water demand and also
the rate of evapotranspiration. The study was conducted to estimate the
daily Evapotranspiration through remote sensing for Nagarjuna Sagar Left
Bank Canal Command Area. The required imagery was procured from the
global land cover facility site from the satellite Landsat-7 with thermal and
NIR bands. The command area map was digitized and cut out for
processing for the estimation of ET with the help of ARCVIEW and
ERDAS. The DN values of bands were used to estimate radiance,
reflectance, Net radiation, soil heat flux and LE. Various other
meteorological data were used for the processing.
Software’s used ILWIS 3.7, ARCMAP 9 3, and ERDAS IMAGINE8.7
