WORK:
2010-2011: Sr. Web & Graphic Designer, VoiceNation, LLC
Lead design, branding and front end development for a multi-million dollar communications company. Led large-scale identity update project successfully for two sub-brands and a non-profit section. Responsible for Drupal-based website development and all print design throughout. Created marketing materials for all brands. Directed and edited videos for multiple projects following design standards. Established style guides and logo guidelines for the company including training staff on how to properly maintain standards. Established brand and all collateral materials for several humanitarian non-profits associated with the company.
2007-2010: Interactive Design Manager, Crown Financial Ministries
Drive website strategy, design and implementation for 10+ web sites including coding HTML, CSS and maintaining all sites. Direct brand consistency across sites and lead the web design team to focus our brand image to a more solid and contemporary state. Working alongside developers, I help determine project scope and feasibility, develop wireframes, design the front-end, support QA phase and assist in go live. Concept/design of emails, blogs, Twitter interfaces, intranet sites and contribute art direction for print and video media for branding cohesion.
2004 - Present: Freelance Web & Graphic Designer/Owner, Merriam Creative
Develop brand identity, marketing strategy and execution for non-profits and small businesses. I produce logo design, blog setup and design, invitations, flyers, newspaper layout, advertising design etc.
2005 - 2006 - Graphic Designer, Appen Newspapers, Inc.
Designed several weekly newspapers from start to finish. Create all graphics, maps, photo retouches, special section art, advertisements etc. for a 100,000+ count circulation paper in North Atlanta. Laid out stories, maintain typographical styles and follow through with projects on a tight schedule from concept to press time. Created web optimized graphics and provided art direction for the website.
2001 - 2004 - Senior Graphic Designer, Young Life
Created print, web and video graphics including publications, brochures, stationery, logos, advertisements, web pages, T-shirts, billboards, etc. for both inside and outside clients. Implemented designs from the idea stage to pre-press and on eventually on to print. Supported a network of 9 Macs. Maintained hardware and software updates, solved operational issues, and helped implement an OS changeover and full system replacement in the fall of 2002.
1998 - 2001 - Quantel Paintbox Designer, KKTV
Developed graphics for 3 daily newscasts in an extremely deadline-oriented environment along with project-specific logos, print materials, web graphics, outdoor advertising and various promotional publications. Completed redesign and implementation of a new weather package in 1999 using WSI software on a Silicon Graphics O2 machine, including map building, animations and video keys.
