Mr. Muhammad Ilyas has completed his Ph.D. in Management Science from the National Research Center for Resettlement (NRCR) School of Public Administration Hohai University, Nanjing China, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Chen Shaojun. His Ph.D. dissertation title is "A Study on the Causes of Dam Project Delays and Its Impacts on Affected People: A Case Study of the Diamer Basha Dam in Pakistan". He has published research articles as a principal author and as a co-author in quality journals such as "International Journal of Construction Management", "Sustainability" and
"Cogent Education".
Mr. Ilyas is an ambitious and well-organized individual with excellent communication and problem- solving skills, carrying a research focus on Involuntary Displacement and Resettlement Management, Migration Management, Project Management, Sustainable Development, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, in order to strengthening governance, policy-making, social safeguards and risk-management practices. Moreover, in his P.h.D research he developed a theoretical framework to mitigate the socio-economic, psychological, and political risks associated with delays in development-induced displacement and resettlement (DIDR) project. Besides, he has acquired a solid academic background through working in pressurized environments that demand self- motivation and a positive response under stress.
Mr. Ilyas seeks to address the involuntary displacement issues, in support of sustainable development through a systematic and holistic approach that transcends disciplinary boundaries. He is enthusiastic about collaborating with scholars and practitioners worldwide, guided by scientific norms and ethical responsibility, to address the challenges faced by affected communities.
