To Whom It May Concern:
I am applying for a Counselor/Consultant The position fits very well with my education, experience and skills. I have enclosed my resume for your consideration.
Your position requires teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students pursuing degrees leading to state certification. I currently work at the Long-Term Suspension Site in Queens as a Guidance Counselor where I lead groups as well as individual counseling sessions with great success. I had also been a Substitute Teacher at Norman Thomas High School for about two years and had worked for the 1199 Union as a teacher/mentor during the summers of 2005 and 2006. Therefore, I have experience in a teaching and counseling setting. With a major in Psychology, I have training on issues dealing with child/school psychology. And as indicated on my resume I have worked in a college venue as an assistant teacher as well as a tutor for the Upward Bound Program in the Bronx. There, I worked with children of various ages from New York City, all dealing with different learning and behavioral problems. Furthermore, I had completed three internships as a school counselor where I have been exposed to the counseling setting and the administrative tasks required in both a high school setting as well as a junior high school setting. Lastly, I have a Permanent School Counseling Certification with a Bilingual Extension in Spanish. I know working with you will give me the chance to use my related abilities in a challenging new setting.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity for a personal interview at your convenience. Should you need to reach me, please feel free to call me at 646-***-**** or you can e-mail me at the above e-mail address. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Jordhanys Pereyra
