Teaching Employment
ESL teacher for the STEP Program (August 2025 – January 2026) at the Canadian International school of Guangzhou. I teach ESL English to prepare students to achieve the correct level of English to be able to join the main school program.
Founding Geography, History & Global Perspectives teacher (August 2021-July 2025) at Wycombe Abbey School Hangzhou. I taught IGCSE/A level while also a class tutor, the coordinator for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and was lead teacher for the STEM part of the 2025 summer camp and designed the program based on the topic of water and climate change.
MYP Science & English teacher (August 2019- July 2021) at Ningbo Huamao International School. I taught grades 7 to 9 IB Middle Years Programme and homeroom teacher. I run an afterschool club for students on how to be a detective.
History & geography Teacher (AP World History, AP European History, AP Art History, AP Human Geography) (August 2014-June 2019) AP centre at Ningbo foreign language school, Ningbo.China Grades year 10 to year 12. As an AP teacher I designed my own course syllabus and internal exams aligned to the AP exam. I served for one year on the Dipont curriculum development panel for humanities.
Human Geography & History Teacher +AP, Americans Studies teacher September 2012-August 2014 Employed by Ameson to teach Human Geography (+AP) and World History +AP) as part of the American High School program in China at Nantong Middle School. Students aged 14-18 years old. Also taught during my first year American Studies and writing workshop as non-AP subjects.
English Teacher Oct 2011-August 2012 English First School, Daqing, China. Employed to teach English to students from four to eighteen years old in a private language school. Classes were ten to sixteen in seize. I also taught twice a week at a secondary school four classes of English.

Since 1998 I have conducted occasional History/Archaeological lectures to students, public and local community groups in the UK and abroad. Course proposal accepted on lecture series on monuments in Northern Ireland as part-time Tutor (Archaeology): Life Long learning Queens University, Belfast.
Archaeological Employment
From 1998 to 2011 worked as Freelance archaeological surveyor & excavator. I was employed on projects in the U.K, Ireland, Eastern Europe and the Near East. This involved writing proposals, project administration & logistics, processing of data; production of final reports, watching briefs and post-excavation. Below is a selection of some of the projects:
11/2007 –3/2011 Masonry Monuments Archaeologist Historic Monuments Unit, Northern Ireland Environment Agency. Contracted to create a conservation priority list for all scheduled masonry monuments, conduct condition surveys of monuments and mortar sample tests, and write reports on the historic development and conservation of major sites, such as Enniskillen Castle and statements of cultural significance. Advised NIEA staff on issues of repair and cleaning of masonry monuments. Completed a GIS project on NIEA landholdings with field survey amongst other GIS work for the department. Involved in training of field monuments wardens and designed training material. Completed investigation reports on collections of worked masonry fragments in NIEA depots.
