Recruited new Fee Attorney offices, negotiated contracts for the new attorneys, ordered all supplies and equipment along with compete setup of the new offices, obtained Escrow Officer License and notary license for all fee attorney employees. Ordered background checks on Fee Attorney and each employee of the attorney. Setup training for company title system, contact and responsible for all underwriting questions and decisions up to 5 million, monthly visits to their offices to checkup on how they were doing, if any issues, anything that we could help them with or if they were having any issues with our title plant production
(consistent errors, not meeting TAT etc.). Kept logs of all Escrow Officers CE courses to ensure total CE hours were obtained in a timely manner each year). The first step in dealing with any possible claims, researched to see if there was a viable claim and if it was caused by an escrow (Fee Attorney employee) or was the result of the title company.
Chief Title Officer responsibilities for Houston Divisional Office while Fee Attorney Manager, including riding along with Sales Management Staff to help possible new customers what we had to offer that made us stand out, gave presentation with the Sales management group with bank boards and larger corporations, outlining how my part of the division would help with customer satisfaction and added benefit to their customers. I reviewed all Attorney Objection Letters with explanation if we could or could not comply with request along with TDI rules and regulations if we were not able to, I also created the pro forma at the same time to save the customer time in having to order and wait for production of document after the Attorney Objection Letter was completed. I was responsible for answering questions from all customers (buyer/seller attorneys, real estate agents etc.) and resolved the issue to the best of my ability for all parties involved. I created, executed and filed all Affidavit of Corrections for documents that were filed with errors. I dealt with request by courts for ordering documents and CD’s pertaining to closings that were requested as part of a legal proceeding).
I was responsible for yearly Fee Attorney Division Projections, projected expenses, projected profit, set out how I would increase my division that was set out by upper executive mandates, set out in a presentation that was given in front of all different division managers, sales managers, divisional president and company CFO.
Attend yearly TLTA Convention to not only attend to know the new changes coming up, but also to meet and market to different fee attorneys, hold a invite only dinner for attorneys that had potential, making sure we had a party bus for safe travel, dinner and drinks in hotel bar afterwards. Nightly socialize/marketing picking up bar tabs for potential attorney’s, to get not only my name out there but our talk up the company and what we were all about and setting up plans for lunch date when we were back in town.
