Developed work standard improvements in General Assembly.
Collaborated with Android Industries supplier to improve Console and I/P build.
Worked on cycle time improvements across General Assembly during startup.
May 2017-Aug 2018: The Productivity Team-Automotive-GM Orion Plant
GM Orion Assembly Plant: I used APS to update the kitting cell time studies in trim. In addition, I presented different kit cell scenarios to increase efficiency and quality.
Kept the trim department kitting cells and DLOCS current using AutoCAD.
I combined a door kitting bulk line and a mirror sequencing line to save space and increase productivity.
I attended a workshop in GMOS.
Feb 2017-Apr 2017: Staffing Resources Inc. – Engineering Staffing
Design Systems-Farmington Hills: I worked as an industrial engineer creating instructional materials for MODAPTS. In addition, I devised a standardized worksheet to itemize the MODAPTS labor content and interpret the MODAPTS formula decisions into a time value.
I provided AutoCAD drawings and time studies for the new Magneti Marelli plant to show the movement of new products between the production machinery and the storage warehouse.
Oct 2015-Dec 2016: CDI Corporation – Engineering, Staffing or Technology
Chrysler Headquarters-Auburn Hills: Throughput engineer working on bottleneck and starve issues on the manufacturing floor of the Chrysler automotive assembly plants. Provide weekly reports to the plants that summarize the downtime due to the different faults into an account that highlights the bottleneck in each center.
Mar 2013-Aug 2015: TPT – The Productivity Team-Automotive
Ford Dearborn Truck Plant: Quality Analyst working on the containment actions necessary to control warranty claims and the top plant quality issues.
Ford Assembly Plant-Wayne MI: Industrial engineer working on an engine line kitting project involving over one hundred parts. I re-balanced the engine line to reflect the new part presentation.
Ford Assembly Plant-Wayne MI: Quality Engineer working on quality focused initiatives that targeted warranty claims. Cross-functional collaborative team activities included defect identification, root causation analysis, interim and permanent containment actions.
Chrysler-Sterling Heights: I made productivity improvements in the trim and chassis lines adhering to lean manufacturing procedures and continuous improvement techniques.
Aug 2004-Nov 2008 General Motors-Pontiac Central Office Pontiac, MI
Senior Industrial Engineer
I developed the processes necessary to migrate automotive assembly line balance data that was mainframe based to a new PC based line balance system.
Led the migration of the mainframe-based line balance data to the PC based line balance system for all (16) North American Assembly Plants. Centralizing this process resulted in considerable savings in time as well as a minimization of errors.
Led development of a process to transfer scheduling order data to the new PC based line balance system to enable creation of actual weighted labor standards. This completed the phase-out of the mainframe-based line balance system resulting in cost savings through elimination of support and computer charges.
Developed labor content and line balance data for the new Chevy Volt (electric vehicle) battery.
Feb 2001-Jul 2004 General Motors Tech Center-Manufacturing C Warren, MI
Assembly Line Balance Systems Analyst
• Engineered and developed SQL and related database procedures to migrate data from GM’s industrial engineering line balance system to a system that integrated line balance data with material parts data.
• I conducted pilot testing on this new system tying the “Description of Operation” and parts data to the migrated operator labor content data. This concluded a feasibility study that proved the non-viability of this new system.
Education
• 1974-Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, Kettering University, Flint, MI
