I started out as an aide on Oncology ward for 2 years. Then I got out of school and began as a nurse on Pediatric-Telemetry- Cardiac floor for 2 years. Then went on to Orthopedic floor taking care of preop and postop patients for 2 years. I worked for a pulmonary physician for 2 years. Then went to psychiatric hospital where in 3 months was in charge of the hospital on 3 -11 shift for three years. I was responsible for triage as well and supervision of C-D ward and Psych for adolescents and adults. Then I worked when I could as my husband was in the military. I worked various jobs on and off for 20 years in nursing and kept my license active. I then moved back to my home town began working in Psych again. Then I worked 3 years in Allergy Immunotherapy and treating anaphylaxis. Then I stopped working due to personal reasons . I am now excited to start work with psych patients and become a Psych Nurse Practioner.
