Recruited from my home in Ireland in 1985 I joined the US Army as a Russian Linguist and went on- I spent most of enlistment in the former Soviet Union with positions in Germany, Kazakhstan, Irkutsk Novotsibirsk, and others. As a Counterintelligence officer (35E). Duties include planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and participating in the collection, production, and dissemination of information and conducting counterintelligence investigations and operations at all echelons during the Cold War.
