A.PROFILE
David Chisomo Banda born on 3rd November, 1996 is a single young Malawian man from Kasungu district, an enthusiastic Health worker and well trained in clinical Medicine. He is capable of organising his time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and use his initiative to come up with solutions to problems hence makes him a top task performer.

Position: Medical Technician
Duties
Ensure that the Health Facility is friendly to all individuals, the youth and key population
Screening prisoners at entry, stay, and exit for TB, HIV, STI, and other medical conditions
Enrolling those newly diagnosed HIV Positive on Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)
Documentation of successful stories and ensure that they provide guidance to the project implementation
Offering ART services to individuals affected and infected with HIV/AIDS
Provision of Intensive Adherence Counselling to patients on ART and TB
Clinic mentor in HIV/ART, TB, Nutrition to prison health staff
Viral Load monitoring according to what it is stipulated in the guidelines
Linking and following up of inmates on ART/TB treatment when exiting the prison
Diagnosing and screening patients and prescribing treatments during outpatient department services
Selecting patients for review by General Medical Officer or Clinical Officer
Examining patients manually and making references for patients and staff.
Referring patients to surgical / medical specialist and conducting minor surgeries and local anaesthesia
Assessing for malnutrition in adults and enrolling the malnourished ones on nutrition program
To ensure that risk assessment and risk reduction plan is done through counselling to patients at STI clinic and partners referral (Notification Slip) is issued
Provision of antenatal and post-natal services to pregnant women and lactating mothers
Recording data in relevant register and instrumentals, compiling and analysing monthly data, performing monthly monitoring, disseminating and quarterly reports to relevant stakeholders including the designated supervisor as the HMIS guideline
Writing ART report every quarter (cohort analysis)
To ensure that monthly and quarterly work plans are developed for all programs at the facility and implementation is done according to the time frame
Making the facility pharmacy including making orders in time and writing monthly pharmacy report Preparing timely monthly pharmacy orders
Provision of family planning services both short and long term methods
Provision of Infection Prevention Methods
