Summary of key accomplishments:

●Enterprise Implementations: Brought in as a subject matter expert to multiple organizations with non-existent processes, procedures, or best practices surrounding database management/ETL/development code arenas. During a 5 year stay at one of the largest health care providers in Texas, I helped establish the foundation needed to run a multi-regional organization with 1/3 of the staff. The teams went from pillarized with internal strife to working as a unit and supporting each level of expertise through team mentorship. During this time, I consulted database teams, programmers, analysis and developed best practices surrounding database systems/ETL processes/scripting based on the discovery. Led teams across broad technical fields to standardized existing systems and ensured new systems met industry best practices in all database server, software development, infrastructure, security, and disaster recovery arenas. Collaborated closely with the Change Advisory Board (CAB) on best practices and protocols surrounding changes to database and coding systems. Implemented robust monitoring systems and other tools to assist developers and ETL coders to better tune queries and processes to improve client request turn-arounds. This implementation also provided leadership with important KPIs surrounding production times, storage needs, disaster recovery effectiveness, team workload analysis and alerting acknowledgements.

●Database/Interface/Tools Developments: Taking a company from reactive to proactive responses through the development of a server/document/code inventory system process using SharePoint, C#, VBS, VBA, t-SQL and a backend SQL server. This was used as a central information repository for all DBAs and Software Analysts in tracking servers/documents/code/scripts. Designed and developed a subject matter expert system that assisted with key team members with expert knowledge in an area such as programming/scripting, always-on, disaster recovery. Developed on SharePoint using C#, VBS, VBA, t-SQL to interface with a backend SQL server

●Team Leadership: Led 13-member multi-regional, multi-country, multi-platform database team in supporting over 1000 database servers for a major Texas based health care provider. Teams were divided into two groups, proactive and reactive and supported to lead subject matter experts. This restructuring took the team from having 75% production time to 95% production time in three months after reorganization of talent, skills and personal goals alignment. Lowed the ticket count from 500 per day to 65 per day.

●Systems Integrations/Migrations: Led team in massive EHR (electronic health records) system conversation covering over 150+ hospitals and clinics. Our role was converting all existing databases systems and tools from one system to the other, ensuring data mapping and extracts met all requirements for the stakeholders. This involved moving and/or duplicating all databases, custom ETL packages, reports, and code base. Coordinated with programmers to meet application life cycle needs as well as keeping with best practices with database deployment and code documentation of an enterprise wide transition from one EHR application (electronic health records) system.

●Completely automated and optimized a major Texas based military hospital’s SQL environment by developing daily maintenance plans and backup systems, configuring monitoring tools, developing disaster recovery plans, and reconfiguring environments for more efficient use of database servers, storage, and services.
