a) I have written a survey paper for publication yet to be presented namely:
“Application-based Classification and Comparison of Secure Routing Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey”
Abstract:
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is an emerging field now a day, and routing is the fundamental networking function in every wireless sensor communication network. In WSN, an adversary can easily disturb the operation of entire network, while attacking on routing services. In order to compare with traditional wired networks, such attacks are relatively easy to employ in wireless sensor networks due to their unattended nature of deployment. The compromised routing messages result the diffusion of incorrect routing information, which can disturb the network behavior. Considering these facts, securing the routing protocols is a primary function, which every sensor network has to be considered.
Basically in my survey paper, I illustrate the existing secure routing protocols. I started by describing the secure routing protocols for different applications. Then at the end I compare the comprehensive comparison among the secure routing protocols in terms of their applications, security requirements, and defense against different attacks and finally suggested my methodology.
b) Worked on term paper and is under process for publication, working along with my supervisor Dr Waleed Baig and yet to be presented soon namely:
“E-Voting System in Pakistan, Security, Architecture & Future Recommendations”
Abstract:
An E-voting system is a system in which the election data of the voters are recorded, stored and then further processed as Digital information. In Pakistan NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) is the central repository that holds the information of the citizens of Pakistan. The ability to vote is the basic right of any citizen. As in Pakistan the traditional voting system is manual and there are number of factors that do not ensure that vote is being correctly considered or not, the counting time of vote and do not provide mechanisms to provide security against frauds .So,we suggests the idea of e-voting system that will overcome these flaws in current voting system in Pakistan. We have proposed architecture, security features and future recommendations in our research paper. In this paper in order to minimize the flaws and maximize the benefits of voting system we suggests the techniques related to voter’s authentication, confidentiality, integrity and anonymity.
My Proposed System:
Our proposed system is design in a way that in electronic voting system that stores and maintains voter’s casted vote securely by using security mechanisms. The overall design is different than traditional already existing voting systems and we focus on designing an entire electronic voting system from beginning to end ensuring the security. It discusses the authentication of voters, maintaining the confidentiality and integrity. In addition to these benefits, anonymity of the voter from adversary along with the feature of time stamp has been introduced which further ensures the security, along with all this concept of receipt generation to the voter is also been introduced that will give voter a satisfaction level and further ensuring the threats against the system We have set our security criteria under four main attributes namely, integrity, authentication, confidentiality and anonymity
