Professional Experience

Orthopedic Medical Group of Riverside 2009- 2020 Current

My role as a medical assistant requires a lot of multitasking with patients in clinic, assisting the doctor, and paperwork in between. I have worked with multiple doctors in this group, but my main doctors are Dr. John Gonzalez and Dr. Richard Biama; both orthopedic surgeons. While rooming patients and taking vitals, I am required to create a transcription for each patient’s chart. In between patients I submit authorization requests to insurances, schedule surgeries to Glenwood Surgery Center, write prescriptions, draw up injections, remove stitches or staples on post op patients, clean up wounds on patients, remove casts, and assist the doctor with physical exams. While working with both doctors 5 days a week I also do inventory on supplies that are needed to be ordered.

Arrowhead Orthopedics 2018- 2019

My main duties as a medical assistant at Arrowhead required a lot of multitasking. I was a lead M.A. for Dr. Paul Burton. My tasks included rooming patients, taking vitals, drawing up injections, current complaints, opening and closing notes, submitting and scheduling surgeries, writing prescriptions, and doing chart prep for the provider.
