Summary
I have worked in the human services field since graduating from the University of Kansas in 1999. Specifically, Franklin Co Mental Health (Elizabeth Layton Center) from 1999-2001, in which I worked with SED children and their families to assist interpersonal, behavioral and family goals geared towards an improvement in child and family behaviors in the home, school and community settings. From 2001-2016 I worked at the Bert Nash Center in both Child and Family, and Adult Services. My duties included case management services, psychosocial group leader, assisting clients with behavioral, interpersonal and skill improvement. Assisted clients with resource acquisition, advocated for clients with regards to the school setting, job pursuits, recovery from alcohol and drug addiction, creating personalized treatment plans, navigating the steps of recovery, and maintained communication with all providers in and outside of the Bert Nash Center. From 2016-2019 I worked as a Medical Records Clerk at Heartland Community Health Center. My duties included maintaining patient medical records, communication with patients regarding their records, distributing records to outside healthcare providers as well as disability attorneys/organizations.
