Overview

I am a medical practitioner qualified with MSc and have more than ten years experiences in working as a medical officer in curative and preventive health setup in government sector of Sri Lanka. I have more than seven years of experience in working as a General Practitioner in Private Sector in Sri Lanka.

I have nearly two years of working experience in surgical unit with covering up Accident Service Unit and Preliminary Care Unit in District General Hospital Mullaitivu. During this period, I have performed routine ASU and PCU duties, managing trauma patients, performing minor surgical procedures, performing basic life support and advanced life support for patients require emergency interventions and also have performed surgical ward duties and theatre duties.

I am also interested in general medicine and public health and have served as a medical officer of Health in MOH office Battaramulla, Colombo RDHS, engaged in conducting maternal and child health clinics, family planning and well women clinics providing pre pregnancy, antenatal, postnatal, neonatal care and immunization of children and school health and adolescent health activities. Also engaged in preventive health activities in the community level conducting non communicable diseases clinics and investigating communicable diseases.

I’m currently working at National Cancer Control Programme, Ministry of Health, engaged in cancer early detection activities specially in breast cancer and cervical cancer screening. I am also passionate about serving cancer care services specially in palliative care aspect and also practicing as a general practitioner to provide quality care to the patients.
