Have worked closely with the Foundations guidance in building strong relationships with local and non-local organizations who have supported the needs for the pediatric department’s inpatient and outpatient: Starlight, Hope Hits Harder, San Antonio Zoo, Child’s Play, Ferrari Kid, Ann Peter’s Foundation and many more
Maintain a checkbook for the internal Pediatric Child Life Fund and work closely with the foundation on multiple accounts within the Child Life Foundation Fund. Determine where purchases will be made from after reviewing both accounts.
Before any purchases are made from our accounts I work closely with donors and organizations who usually donate, but still work directly with the Foundation. Many of the dollars raised have been from donors that allow purchases to be made on certain categories i.e. electronics, camp, caterings, Magik Theatre. Utilize the funds wisely to ensure there is a continued cushion for spending.
Responsible for pediatric event planning: Handle the logistics, working with organizations that we partner with that will host our patients and families, Invitation mail-out, Patient mail-out list, work with corporate on invite design, handle decor, catering, registration and worked closely with the Foundation as to what our needs are.
Work closely with our Foundation and Corporate Communications Departments to promote the good that is happening within our department, to display the positivity and normalcy we are providing to children who are scared when being in a different environment. Handle all media interviews when an event or story is featured depending on the pediatric story, but am present for all media and coordinate with Corporate to communicate to Upper Leadership.
I Focus on Patient Experience, I round on patients and families to see how their stay is going, make sure they are staying updated and educated on their child’s admit.
Support our Ambulatory clinics with positive goodies (treasure box, fun center, battery operated car so kids can drive to their clinic room) to make going to the doctor’s office less scary.
I have written a couple of grants for our department and have received a positive response to both.
Marketing the pediatric needs. Research all areas where I can request funds and support for our pediatric unit.

Responsible for Neuroscience Pedi/Adult and Inpatient Rehabilitation in addition to other pediatric specialty services as assigned. Tracking external transfers for all services developed questionnaire to track where areas need improvement and where the strong areas are.
Responsible for lean Board on a monthly basis.
Developing a list of external private EMS businesses and tracking the last quarter that transferred their patients to us to begin outreach to those reoccurring and not as frequent transfers.

Building a relationship with external potential referring medical businesses.
Marketing inpatient services to outlying health systems in Bexar County and some out of state health systems communicating directly to social workers, patients and their families in person or via phone.
Outpatient rehabilitation marketing services to external physician, in various specialties, and their staff.
Work closely with Corporate Communications on collateral pieces for the professional and patient/family population and have worked on updating these pieces myself.
Media coverage (photo shoots, professional video and news media) that will market our therapy services, marketing plan, updating the Reeves Rehab website and have participated in events where Reeves has been a sponsor or had a presence in promoting services.
Developed an e-newsletter that is to be electronically dispersed yearly and a yearly Christmas card is being mailed to a current updated database in addition to all graduating Reeves residents.
Involved in the renovation plan of the 6th floor inpatient unit.
Work directly with the residents, medical director and chief of rehabilitation, some therapists and administration.
Keep track of all patients that are candidates for acute rehab in addition to the social workers that are involved, send ongoing emails to outside health systems making them aware of the bed availability.

In addition to my responsibilities as Community Relations Coordinator, I am responsible for the Healthy Hints Preventive Program, which includes managing 4 staff members.

Maintain incentives for the Women’s service line, ensuring that 13 of the UHS clinics receive their product on a monthly basis, and for the Texas Diabetes Institute.

Responsibilities within Health Promotions consist of: community outreach, coordinate and attend external health fairs, some events consist of additional coordination of blood sugar and cholesterol screenings.
Maintain the inventory and ordering of screening supplies and promotional handouts and giveaways.
Reviewing and maintaining marketing materials within the TDI (including all required clinical and educational handouts, brochures, and books), maintain the TDI website, assist in all internal events, conduct TDI tours and assist with any media that is present within the facility.
In 2006 received an additional responsibility for the Women’s service line within University Health System in assisting with various marketing promotional projects and coordinating and organizing area events.
