Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:

Documents/Records information by entering, transcribing recording, storing, or maintaining in written or electronic/magnetic form. Responsible for maintaining individual clinic spreadsheets with regards to cancel appointments, patient contact and cancellation information; using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information.

Ability to manage priorities and coordinate work in order to complete duties within required timeframes, and the ability to follow-up on pending issues. Analyze administrative workflow and problems and created efficient procedures to enhance productivity

Reviews and enters remedy help tickets for all IT services to assist in complex discrepancies involving VA application modifications, computer access, phone line operations, and all other accessibility tools to complete daily task. Provides independent judgment to perform complex, sensitive, project work to the highest degree of difficulty related to technical review of all MSA consults, RTC orders, providers schedules in order to run a successful scheduling. Generates queries and reports from various computer systems as needed to retrieve information for data verification.

Screens/receive phone calls in a courteous and timely manner, determine the nature of request and provide the information desired using privacy rules and established clinic processes.

Assists management with decisions on the appropriate clinic set-up, taking into consideration the number of clinicians, space available, nursing staff and clerical support availability.

Conducted projects in order to recommend changes in existing clinic activities using productivity, cost effectiveness and clinic outcome data. Ability to utilize numerous advanced patient systems in support of multiple clinics in an interdisciplinary setting.

Ability to manage staffing requirements, manage workflow priorities, and adjust the flow of work to meet team and patient needs. This includes the ability to follow-up on pending issues and demonstrate an understanding of the impact of incomplete work across multiple clinics.

Handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions. Use tact, initiative, prudence and independent judgment within general policy, procedural and legal guidelines.

Medical practice serves specialties in rheumatology, Primary Care, Lyme Disease research, infectious disease & Autoimmune Diseases. Assist with the admission and discharge of patients and the maintenance of medical records to include ICD 9 coding, making sure the proper code for billing was entered, filing, adding demographic information and filling out laboratory/X-Ray/EKG slips.. Work with insurance companies to obtain patient precertification on all radiology testing.

Determined /prioritized all medical record requests by priority and date. Retrieved all appropriate records needed for Social Security and attorneys Communicated with all outside facilities on status of all medical requests . Operate computer systems to input and retrieve information. Provide a comprehensive range of patient care duties to include documentation of medical activities in patient records as appropriate. Obtain and document subjective complaints in detail, as well as objective findings, i.e. temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, medication list, height and weight. Perform general maintenance duties including cleaning and arranging supply carts, cleaning, ordering and restock supplies, instruments, and equipment.

Report deficiencies in supplies and equipment, handle biohazards materials according to infection control policies and clean patient units and exam areas as needed.
