Building microbiology tests using micro db tools, bedrock, dcp tools and the department order catalog in Cerner Pathnet. Leading and managing the microbiology portion of Cerner Millennium implementation.

Making changes in general lab tests (chemistry and hematology) as far as reference ranges are concerned and making changes with test names.

Implementing Cerner Millennium across multiple campuses (Cornell, Columbia and Allen Pavilion).

Used many Cerner Pathnet applications for various tasks (application bar, open view, all the microbiology db tools, dcp, DORC, charge services, mdi audit tool, departmental order entry, result entry, order result viewer, batch result entry, QC applications and bedrock.

Extensive use of Eclipsys by ordering a wide spectrum of tests and making sure that they crossed over to Millennium through the interfaces. That was done by opening up HL7 to see if the orders did come across. Order sets were also used to test if all parts of a specific order test could come over through downstream systems (Eclipsys) to Millennium.

Extensive interface testing with ADT, the whole system interfaces, FSI primarily, and instrumental/application interfaces

Resulting tests in Millennium and making sure that they crossed back over to Eclipsys. The HL7 was utilized daily to see if the results crossed over in downstream systems.

Many down streams were utilized before, during and after implementation of Millennium. Aside from Eclipsys, we used Allscripts and Epic. Allscripts were used specifically by the uptown campus (Columbia Presbyterian Hospital).

Testing where all orderable tests were compatible with Eclipsys and all downstream systems.

Creating Standard Operating Procedures for the LIS team and for all the end users for all cerner applications. Extensive documentation was provided for service level agreement.
