SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Designing and detailing of light to heavy machinery fabrications, castings, and assemblies made from mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Designing sheet metal parts and weldments. Designing assembly, welding, and test fixtures. Designing injection molded and vacuum formed plastic parts. Writing and maintaining bills of materials and engineering revision documentation. Resolving design issues with manufacturing and production departments.

More than thirty-five years of experience using computer-aided drafting and design systems. This includes five years using AutoCAD and over twenty-five years of experience using 3-D solid modeling design software (Pro/ENGINEER, Wildfire 5, Creo, Windchill, and SolidWorks).

Making calculations to determine machine loads, stresses, deflections, speed, size, cost, pressures, component dimensions, tolerance stack ups, weight, center of gravity, etc. Checking fabrication and assembly drawings for conformity to drawing standards, fit with mating parts, dimensions, calculations, materials, manufacturability, interference, etc.

New product development. Hands on assembly and testing of prototype products to verify that the product conforms to engineering and customer specifications for performance and life expectancy. Traveling to customer sites for equipment installation, sales support, product demonstrations, taking field measurements, and making equipment adjustments and repairs.
