• Received reports and investigated claims of bodily injury and property damage involving serious multi-line claims. Determined coverage. Performed background checks and index research on all claimants. Set adequate reserves, with adjustments as the claim investigations progressed.
• Successfully Conducted field interviews and obtained or recorded statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses. Obtained Police Department and Fire Department reports, and all Investigators’ reports.
• Photographed and measured property damage to vehicles, structures or other insured or claimant issues.
• Gathered all supporting documentation to analyze, evaluate, and adjust each individual claim on its own merit. Consulted with supervisors and or managers to settle claims not within my authority.
• Proven problem solving capabilities with emphasis on statements, facts, strategy and resolve.
• Negotiated settlements with insureds, claimants, attorneys or others within settlement authority. Reviewed and authorized payments on claim related bills.
• Participated in Small Claims Trials for the Insureds. As well as mediations, arbitrations, and mandatory settlement conferences.
• Heavy litigation experience. Selected and Coordinated with Defense Counsel on all cases pursued by plaintiff attorneys into litigation. Obtained cost of defense evaluation. Advised counsel on claims issues with respect to coverage. Supported their cases with my investigation, experts, and analysis. Recommended settlement authority and trial strategy.
