Dear Sir:

I will list the experiences that enable me to be qualified for the job you are offering. In 1973 I worked for Jim Walters' Urethane factory in Kentucky as the Plant Engineer. This factory ran 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and when I wasn't in the plant I was on call. My major achievement was learning how to incorporate electrical circuits into the existing equipment to modify their function. I was able to increase the efficiency of the plant from 70-90% because of these designs I was offered a job at a plant three times the size and they offered to double my salary, but I decided to work in the textile area and left their corporation. Being on call 24 hours per day wears a person down after a year of experience.

In 1974 I worked in a Bemis Corporation Textile Mill in Honduras, Central America. I was able to lower the power bills using a power factor meter enabling me to purchase capacitor banks, the installation of them, and a cost savings of 100,000usd per year. I also was in charge of two expansions, one the finishing goods department, and the expansion of the spinning room. We also eliminated 300 workers from the mill using the Industrial Engineering Department which I started in the mill (time and motion study, etc.) I was promoted to Assistant Manager and doubled the sale volumes in the next year. Then the mill was burned down by employees and I left Honduras to work with Texaco in Coral Gables, Florida.

In 1981, I was employed by Texaco as an Operations Assistant in Coral Gables, Florida. My job was to help in Latin America and West Africa with any operational problems (service station design, factory design, terminal design, etc.). I was working on a project in Conakry, Guinea, West Africa where I was to order all the necessary materials to build a plastic, drum and lube oil factory from engineering drawings. I ended up supervising the erection of the 3 plants as there were no contractors with our standards to do this. I had to specify the boiler while determining its load, specify the piping; the compressor, the piping; the pumps and fiberglass piping to the terminal, and the electrical wiring of the entire factories. I also trained 5 Guinean engineers who assisted in different parts of the erection of the three plants. I had to assist in the receipt and delivery of base oils to the new tanks with a pig system and the new fiberglass piping.

Next, I was asked to do the same for a grease plant to be erected in Nigeria. I ordered all the materials necessary for the plants erection, but this time didn't take part in the erection process. I did spend two years running the plant, and training the Nigerian engineers on how to troubleshoot and fix process problems. My two years on my work permit expired and I was sent to a different area and job by Texaco.

I worked in the Caribbean with Texaco in Barbados, as an Engineering Supervisor for 4 countries. Our budget was about 3 million dollars per year for the three countries. I was also promoted to Country Manager of the three countries in the Caribbean responsible for the profit and loss statements during this work experience after our capital expenditure funds for three years were drastically reduced..My countries made the most money in the Caribbean and I was ranked the best Manager among the Managers of the 17 countries reporting to Barbados. My next assignment was to go to Texaco Bahamas as Operation Manager which had received an unacceptable finance and operational audit by Texaco auditors. My assignment was to rid the group of inefficient personnel, hire new employees, train them, and allow them to work under supervision. Before I left we were given both a finance and operational audit which was passed with flying colors. Next, I was sent to Texaco Haiti as an Assistant Manager after the embargo was removed by the USA. My job was to rebuild the operational side of the organization: hire and train the new employees, run the terminals and airport facilities, be in charge of the Environment, Health and Safety part of the organization, refurbish the main terminal (invested 5 million dollars), design and erect the new service stations and convenient stores, etc. I was the group leader involving three petroleum corporations in establishing a joint venture in terminal operations. Our terminal was considered the most updated after our extensive investment.

My next promotion was to be Operations Manager in West Africa for 7 countries. I was sent into Africa as part of a team effort to rebuild our corporation as there were potential losses of up to 50 million dollars due to mismanagement by the current team and bad operational audits. My new position gave me new responsibilities on a regional basis: any projects over 1million dollars in each country; the Safety, Health and Environment at all facilities; training thereof; evaluation of all operations supervisors and the operational staff in each country; and the inspection and maintenance of 110 million dollars in assets (terminals, buildings, factories, service stations, etc.)I also designed and implemented The Module Operation Excellence throughout West Africa with an 80%implementation rating

My accomplishments my last year: achieving synergies worth 2.3 million dollars; received the corporate level award for Africa-Zero is attainable for Safety and Environment; and received the corporate award Moving Toward World Class award (implementation of in house programs). When I departed the region was in blank ink with an ROI of approximately 16%. I worked with ATN, a state organization as a CBJT Industrial Maintenance Instructor who rotates among 5 community colleges teaching: Instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controls, Ac/Dc Fundamentals, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, and Motor Controls 1 &2.This job was taken in line with updating my technical experience and doing something I enjoy very much-teaching/. This job lasted two years and two months. The original grant was over,an extension of one year was granted, but I needed more permanent employment,so I accepted a job with Faulkner State Community College. I joined Faulkner State Community College full time as an Industrial Maintenance Instructor in August 2013 and remained employed with them until April 2014 as my contract expired. I added Residential/Commercial wiring to my teaching portfolio. I joined ITT_Tech as a part time Industrial Engineering Adjunct Instructor in March 2015 teaching one class per quarter for three quarters, ending in November 2015.The courses taught were:DT1325- Sustainability in Design,IE1410-Human Factors(Ergonomics) and IE2515-Facility Design. I received two awards one-Highest Engagement Rate Variance (14.6%)for IE1410 and the 90% Club. I have also been a high school teacher for 7 years. I am an American who speaks English, Spanish and French. I am honest, hardworking, a self-starter requiring very little supervision.
