Ordering, cataloguing, indexing, classification, acquisition and accession of all types of resource centre media.

Marketing the Media libraries internally and externally.

Make sure that the unit adhere to all aspects of the Information Policies and Standards.

Handling of payments and keeping a vivid picture of the library budget, in compliance with the PFMA & Treasury Regulations.

Developing & managing the information management strategy for the Resource Centre/Library.

Fairly monitoring & updating the Resource Centre website & publishing online newsletters to keep staff up to date with newly accessed information.

Managing short and long term projects within the Resource Centre/Library.

Marketing the library in all possible methods and interacting with external library users and members. Compiling functional charts and internal reports. Capturing data of journals, reports & books in the library.

Conducting Information Audits to ensure the effective flow of information within the organisation.

Handling of internal and external telephone requests.

Consulting with internal and external researchers and assisting them in retrieving research information from both the Internet and other media resources.

Liasing with the HOD’s & staff of the college and preparing class material.

Helping pupils to use search engines to access current information.

Monitoring the students during their study time and training them on how to access information from the Internet and other online databases.
