A highly experienced Mine Overseer (32 years mining experience) with an extensive history overseeing health, safety, production and environmental issues across a wide range of mining disciplines and construction. Proven ability in coaching front-line staff to promote a positive HSE culture with optimal production, and to improve timeous delivery of targets for the Organisation. CAREER OBJECTIVE

I am seeking a Mine Overseer / Mine Captain / Mine Supervisor / Construction Supervisor position with an organisation that focuses on the maximum safe output of their staff. I am a suitable candidate for roles that require strong operational and strategic leadership to improve the prevention of injuries, incidents and near misses in the working place, with solid production objectives. KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Good knowledge and experience in Health and Safety, strict control on Legal Requirements. Accurate submittals of documentation on time, such as incident investigations, production reports as well as all required reports regarding mining operations.

Gather information for weekly/monthly meetings/ reports.

Coordinate and appoint Sub-ordinates, Shift Supervisors, Miners and Safety Representatives. Ensure all personnel required to be appointed, are signed off and available.

Have systems in place to identify and follow up on all working places, daily inspections and recommendations regarding the operation.

Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are completed for all critical tasks. Have a system in place to discuss R/A’s with the employees prior to the tasks being performed.

Safe work areas and safe traveling areas. Fall Protection plan must be available and in use.

Housekeeping paramount.

Availability of PPE, control and proper use of it.

Experience in chemical (including explosives) storage and management, noise and dust pollution, and ventilation standards.

Experience on Mining disciplines includes: Primary and Secondary Development, Longwall Stoping, Scattered Stoping, Inclinational Development, Pillar Extraction, Development of Large Excavations (Bulk air Coolers 5000m3), Station Development, Conventional and Trackless Development including Multi Blast Operations

Experience in Long-Hole Ore Extraction (Cave Mining) and conventional Ore-Pass Development (Long Hole Drilling)

Experience in Construction of Tips, Bulk Heads, Tracks and general construction of all other underground requirements

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and bespoke software systems.

Managing HSE requirements for staff, contractors and sub-contractors
