MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CHSO
Monitors workplace activities to ensure that workers and subcontractors comply with clients, company policies and government safety regulations. Assisting with emergency operations. Conducting safety inspections of workplace and employee operations Conducting safety training, induction and ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Maintaining an incident book, regarding infractions, non-compliance and plant issues That all persons are aware of the hazards attached to the work being carried out and are fully conversant regarding the precautionary measures to be taken or observed to obviate such dangers. Organize, assign, and brief subordinates on all health and safety related issues. Complete forms and reports required of the assigned position. Ensures the Site Safety and Health Plan and procedures are prepared and implemented. Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions
That all work is performed by suitably trained and competent persons. That all statutory appointments have been completed and all statutory requirements are met. That, where required, health and safety committees are established, that meetings are accordingly held and that minutes of such meetings are kept and properly filed. That the required risk assessments and audits are carried out as per clients requirements. That discipline is enforced on the construction site all the times. Rejects are recorded on Reject advice notes or other similar documents. Delivery
FIFO, Kanban & visual system rules are well understood & followed according to communicated standards.
Tools to highlight weekly line items or arrears are understood & followed in order to satisfy internal & external customers
Cost
Idle time is avoided by reporting machine breakdowns or process interruptions promptly to the Cell or Team leader.
WIP is minimized by not producing more than the kanban level unless instructed otherwise by a first line manager.
PPE, machine consumables, raw materials, tools etc are used in such a manner that they are not damaged or wasted.
Autonomous checks are completed to standard, on time & as & when planned. Productivity
Hourly targets for each process or machine are understood & met.
Machine setups are completed according to agreed standards with respect to time, frequency & accuracy.
Hourly & shifty outputs are recorded on the provided documents (OEE log sheet, rate tracking sheet, short interval control etc.).

Absence from work is reported to the Cell or Team leader within 4 hours of the start of the affected shift.
