Company is into Oil & Gas Trading – Lpg and Lng & Ship Chartering business. Trading Operations:
• Dealing with Major oil players – Shell, Mercuria, Vitol, Trafigura, Uniper, Reliance etc.
• The Main operation for the company involves ports like Nigeria, USA, UAE and Far East.
• Involved in loading of cargo viz LPG/LNG/Condensate/Fuel oil etc. from Nigeria Ports
(Bonny/Lagos etc.), generally FOB deals but depending on trade nature, we do CIF/CNF as well to discharge ports like Far East, Middle East, India etc.
• Making sure the nominated vessels are cleared for the Operational purpose, in case of Gas vessels, the required SSCS is done on time as per agreed CN terms/conditions. Involved in narrowing down of Laycan’s & Delivery Windows as per agreed recaps / CN.
• In case of other Petroleum products making sure that the performing/nominated vessels are cleared well in advance from the loading port and discharge port terminal by submitting the required pre-arrival documents/information like Q88, Stowage plan, arrival/sailing draft, P&I Insurance certificate etc.
• Appointment of agents & Cargo Surveyors at various ports, & close coordination with them to ascertain the quick turn-around of the vessel.
• Coordinating with Vessel for timely notices to terminal, receivers etc. and arrange for the berthing operations on arrival with close liaison with agents.
• Making sure with close coordination with vessel master and agents that all pre-arrival required documents like Q88, Ship’s registry, B/L, Cargo Manifest, Crew list, Issc certificate, Pre-arrival questionnaire, Radio Certificate, Safe Manning Certificate etc. etc. are forwarded and submitted on time to concerned port/terminal authorities and all the approvals necessary for calling the Vessel to port are in place.
• Liaising closely on daily basis with Traders for the finalization of various Deal Recaps / Confirmation Notices and MSPA’s.
• Upon receipt of final deal recaps/CN/MSPA, making sure all the terms/conditions as stated are met accordingly.
• Close liaison with Trade Finance team to make sure all LCs etc. are in place prior commencing the loading/discharge operation.
• Get the necessary cargo quality arranged for testing, to make sure the parameters are in range as agreed in the recap to avoid any unnecessary commercial negotiations.
• Upon completion, arranging all the necessary cargo documents viz B/L, Certificate of quantity, quality, origin, SOF, Cargo Manifest, Lop’s etc. as per the deal or LC requirements .
• Making sure - Vessel arrives (in load ready condition, the necessary tank cleaning and cooling down onboard is performed on time)/load or discharge/sails asap to avoid any potential claims/demurrages of any nature.
• Receiving/Preparing all the claims / demurrages pertaining to the deals, checking for their accuracy, counter accordingly if need be and arrange for the payments or collect the same as per the case.
• Maintaining the file properly deal wise for any future reference purpose. Worked as Asst Manager (Under Managerial authority) - Vessel & Trading Operations at Penta continent & Onex DMCC (QAIWAN GROUP), Dubai UAE from July 2017 until May 2020:
Company is a Ship Owner, Oil Trading & Ship Chartering Company with fleet of Vessels, 7 in No’s (CPP/DPP – MR’s, Aframax, Suezmax & VLCC’s). Vessel Operations:
• Monitoring closely daily operations of all the in house and chartered vessels.
• Close liaison & meetings with trading manager & team on regular basis for discussing details on current and next possible fixture for both in house and chartered vessels.
• Basis meeting/discussion with trading manager / team, arranging to send voyage proceeding orders, load & discharge orders etc.
• Making sure that vessels COT is clean and she is ready in all aspects to load next nominated cargo.
• Appointment of agents at various ports, & close coordination with them to make sure all the necessary requirements are met viz, crew change, supplies, pre-arrival documents, berthing of vessel, loading/unloading etc.
• Close liaison with chartered vessel owners and brokers to make sure the all the vessel operations go in a smooth way with minimum possible challenges.
• Monitor the performance of the vessel’s, especially the chartered one as per the C/P terms and conditions, any issues to be brought immediately to the notice of ship owners/brokers and rectified accordingly.
• Passing cargo documents instructions to agents for preparation of BL/CM draft, upon receiving draft from agents, same to be checked if in line with our instructions and advising changes/approval accordingly
• Upon receipt of C/P from concerned chartering department, checking for all terms/conditions and making sure, vessels are performing in accordance with contract.
• Upon receipt of PDA/FDAs from various port agents, checking the same for genuineness along with all required supporting’s.
• Preparation of Laytime Statement/calculations & other Claims related to Chartered out In-house vessels. Making sure, the payment is received on time.
• Upon receipt of all the invoices and claims from brokers/3rd party vessel owners Viz. Freight, Deviation, Demurrage, waiting for orders etc., checking if same are in order and as per C/P terms/conditions. Any errors etc. need to be brought to the notice of concerned department/peoples immediately and to be negotiated/discussed & corrected accordingly.
• Acting as bridge between vessels and bunkering department, regarding vessel’s bunker requirement and assisting both parties to the max.
• Arranging for the on and off hire surveys of the vessels, in case of time charter of 3rd party vessels.
• Acting as helping hand in cases relating to insurance, cargo claims etc. by liaising with brokers/insurers/vessel’s/agents for obtaining necessary related information/documents as per the need of the insurance/claim’s manager.
• 24x 7, Monitoring & closely liaising with vessel master and staff for all the operational needs at various ports or at anchorages as applicable.
• Maintaining records of delays, non-compliance from various vessels and to make sure deductions are done accordingly in the invoices at the time of respective payments. Trading Operations:
• Dealing with Major oil companies – Shell, BP, Chevron, Mercuria, Vitol, Reliance etc.
