Resume:

Ok,

So I feel, that you do have the answer to what ever problem your company is having you have the answer to. I know this because of 1, how well my video was received, + I am really good at the whole operational conditioning thing. Its a learnable skill, what is observable, what is quantifiable, and what is repeatable. So easy, what does someone post about, how strongly the emotions of what they post about are, and how often they post about it. So in my first video, I basically took everything you said (+ the things that you had said about your company previously), and repeated it back with my understanding of how things worked, based on opinions from people that are really qualified in those fields. They all missed about how you had found success in your previous product. They got too caught up at looking at what twist is right now.

So because do not have their training, I saw it more as a lack of identity. Todoist was built with your identity organically. The whole story and time line happened at the same time. So it would be a lot easier for that to be the life blood of the product. However you were not in the same place in life when you started dev on Twist. The reason for that really boils down to the fact that you were literally not in the same spot in your life at that point. The struggle was gone. Now this part would be a guess, but I would guess you would have tried to take a safer approach because now you have people depending on you. Where as before it would have been less pressure to just follow you hears song. So you tried to improve on your recipe.

Which kinda made twist a mix match of marketing and brand identity.

But, if you had a way to have freedom to relaunch it while still meeting your current clientele demands, then it would give you freedom to take risks on the things that you know work, because you did it before. Plus you are actually seeing the results of it right now. Beta twist consumer facing, super low cost, lots of testing. Make it hard for the competition to know what you are doing so they cant steal your stuff. Plus make it enterprise facing. I mean shit you could even create a sub division or shelf company to make sure your other products don't get hurt branding wise, and then have the freedom to experiment, at a low cost.

All of this was going to be in my communication to you after the 2nd video, but things that I observed had changed. Your pattern of behavior on twitter changed too much, so I wasn't sure who I was talking to anymore. So things got more convoluted, and now we find ourselves here XD. But that's not a bad thing because the foundation of trust I believe is established. I feel like my whole existence has been fully vetted XD. Plus after I stepped back the change behavior is that I Have a direct line to communicate things directly to you.

I will submit to you that what you actually find appealing about me is that, I think I might be the only one person who even seems remotely competent that told you, "no your doing things right", its a good product, you just need to try something that will give you more freedom and a low cost and boom. You're good to go. It's not me that's appealing, it's your idea. I just added my 2 cents to it.

I will say though, that you are definitely a software engineer. Analytical, plus you are so close to this product that every detail probably has your fingerprints on that, which is good. Ownership is always good, but communication wise that is a little different. Tools dont sell things, stories do. So really you just need a storyteller, and I don't want to sound braggadocious here, but let's just say I feel that I have demonstrated my ability to captivate people of all walks of life XD. I mean some good ways, some bad but hey you take what you can get.

I do think that if you had a better understanding of how counter conditioning would work (which it is very difficult to do) it would provide you with a lighter touch. What really makes that hard is the way social media works today, where everything is polarized and there are very few things in between. It would take a more direct approach, organic, 1 person at a time. You would need to have each message customized, build a trust based relationship with the people that want to work with you (because believe you me misunderstandings will happen XD ). That whole building trust loop scales upwards endlessly. Forever, especially in an infinite game.

I felt passionately about getting in contact with you for a number of reasons. 1, I see that you succeeded where I failed, 2, I see where my domain knowledge applied to your situation could ensure my dreams that were kind of snuffed out would have a chance to grow. It's not that I am trying to use your position to ensure their survival, it's just more so that they were literally developed for the situation that you are in. I am not motivated by money, I just want to have an effect on the world. Which I think you do too. So I actually don't think that you find me appealing, if you do it's really just a version of yourself that you might have gotten disconnected with that you find appealing. That disconnection is definitely going to cause anyone stress and depression. Especially if they actually have the answer, they are just fumbling a little bit on the execution. Which is really easy to do depending how passionate we are about something. I think I would like to use myself as a example there XD. Stress makes people do things that they are not accustomed to, things that they would not do when they are at their best. I have been saying all along covid makes things worse all around, so its a new ball game.

As for appeal that's all your ideas, I offered new domain knowledge, and boom there you go.

I would now like to address the situation we currently find ourselves in. I would really like to work for Doist, I definitely could use the health insurance, and stability. I like the idea of trying to change the world using an async comms app, mostly because I think that it would be the largest troll the tech industry has ever seen XD . To be fair though, I have been vetting you, the company and everyone else that I have interacted with as well. I know that everyone that was involved knows that I have not bad mouthed anyone behind their backs. Which to be fair was not all that hard for 2 reasons. 1, I was just not raised like that, 2, I never knew who I was interacting with XD. Which is fine but it kinda got me distracted from my main objective which was to get a job at your company. I can't help it, people are the greatest puzzles for me, and when they have drastic behavioural changes I try to shake trees and find out what has changed, and boy do I feel like I stepped in it this time.

I needed to be sure that my divergent approach to things would be acceptable, cause to be frank I am an odd duck. I can be willful and I just will push forward on things at times if I strongly believe in it. I have organizational problems, as well as problems with time management. That doesn't seem like it would be a great fit at first glance for a company that revolves around organization and mindfulness XD, but to be fair that actually might be what everyone all around needs. My grandmother always drilled into my head that there are things people say, and there are things that people do. The things that people do will tell you who they are, and what they are about. That always made sense to me. So that's the lens that I push things through. So while it is literally insane the efforts that I have put into this, to be fair the actions I saw (which I feel any sane or neuro typical person would have missed) were causing actions that I saw were moving in a positive direction. Again with that operational behavioral perspective. But opp con does not account emotional well being in its science on purpose (which is really fascinating, most of that is due to Fruedian philosophy vs Skinner philosophy, and it is very similar to dems and republicans on social media today. You have to take a side, and any move toward the center is taboo) and I feel we are at the point where it's time to look at addressing that directly.

I would like the UX copywriter job at doist. I would like to use the entire journey that I have shown everyone involved in this process as my portfolio, as I personally feel that I have taken everyone involved in this process through one hell of a user experience. I am not saying that to cut corners, but mostly because I really feel it is important that I cut my squirrel training video, because opp con is really dangerous even if it is used with the best of intentions you can end up with a lot of dead squirrels, and that is not accounting for neurotic squirrels.

Let me know your thoughts, I am open to any suggestions.
