Account Assistant

As an Account Assistant, I perform the following duties:

* Monitors payment transactions by ensuring that payments are received for the goods and services provided to the customers/ clients.

* Manages outgoing bills and invoices.Eg Utility bills.

* Paying employees by verifying expense reports and preparing paychecks.

* Prepares sales orders,purchase order,generate invoices, receipts and account statements.

* Maintaining and updating of account receivable and payables files and records on a daily basis.

* Responsible for the collection of payments from clients on behalf of the company.

* Updating and reconcile the account receivable ledger and petty cash account to ensure that all payment are accounted for and properly posted.

* Generating accounting reports that shows detailed account receivable and payables status.

* Updating and maintaining accurate fixed asset register.

* Updating and maintaining records of expenditures.

* Compute taxes(VAT)and file returns to Tax offices.

* Prepared day to day business transactions and ensured that enteries are recorded accurately into the appropriate acounts.

* Ensured availability of funds so as to meet daily petty cash expenses.
