Position: Site Engineer

Summary: Project involved the construction of 3 residential Blocks, a Chapel and an Administrative Block. It also included the constru ction of 6 No. tanks holding a total of 500,000lts of water as well as civil works (drainage and roads) for the site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Main technical adviser on site, managed building work, solved problems on site and ensured technical designs and drawings were followed correctly.

Kept records of quantities on site and liaised with the Quantity surveyor.

Managed, monitored and interpreted the contract design documents supplied by the architect, civil and structural engineer.

Carried out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of all subcontractors.

Secretary for Volunteers for Children in Need – this volunteer group meets quarterly and we donate food, clothes, mattresses and financial assistance to different children’s homes.

Thomas Barnado children’s home – this is a home for destitute and orphaned children. I tended to abandoned infants of various ages and performed household chores for the daily maintenance of the facility. I also collected and delivered books donated by family and friends.

Nyumbani children’s home – this is a home for children suffering from HIV. My colleagues and I prepared meals and performed household chores. Other Interest
