• July 2013 to January 2019: Ph.D. (DST-INSPIRE Fellow), Department of Biotechnology IIT Roorkee, India

Ph.D. Thesis Title: Isolation, Characterization and Biomedical Applications of Biosurfactant

• Isolation of a highly Potent surface-active glycolipid biosurfactant from B. licheniformis SV1 soil isolate and its structural characterization using NMR, GC-MS, FTIR and LC-MS/MS

• Studies of different in vitro and in vivo of isolated glycolipid revealed its cytocompatibility towards normal cells (HEK-293 cells) while it was found to be cytotoxic against prostate cancer cells and eradicate both biofilm formation and pre-formed biofilm in Candida pathogens. In vivo dermal wound healing and antiulcer activity of isolated glycolipid on Wistar albino rat model showed it’s biomedical usage in antifungal disinfectant, wound healing ointment preparations and to be used as antiulcer drug and gastroprotective agent.
