WORK EXPERIENCE
PETROLEUM ENGINEER, Ghana National Petroleum Cooperation 12/2017 – present The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) is the state agency responsible for the exploration, licensing, and distribution of petroleum-related activities in Ghana. It has among its functions to promote petroleum exploration activities, to appraise existing petroleum discoveries and to train Ghanaians in petroleum-related activities.
Performing technical assessments related to the storage of carbon dioxide in the subsurface, oil & gas operations, and geologic characterization research.
Generating engineering memos summarizing findings to help the engineering department analyze collateral value, cash flow and credit risks.
Reviewing sundry notice applications for oil and gas operations that include installation of measurement meters, approval of gas flaring/venting, storage of hydrocarbons and disposal of produced water.
Generate engineering presentation materials for data room presentation using data supported by client or public data.
Responsible for technical evaluation of client oil & gas assets, including: reservoir evaluation, production data analysis for identifying key performance drivers and economic analysis.
Analyzing complex operational programs that ensure adequate resource protection, including cement types and placement techniques, alternative fluids and evaluation tests.
Reviewing applications for permit to drill (APDs) ensuring company operations are to be conducted in a manner which protects hydrocarbon, water, and other mineralized zones.
Evaluating geologic data provided and conferring with geologist in seeking further interpretation of conflicting or inconclusive data.
Performing technical reviews and making recommendations for approval of all down-hole operations.
Reviewing proposed testing, logging, and coring program.
Tracking progress using Salesforce and delivering accurate forecasts.
Assisted in effective field development planning for gas condensate reservoirs in the Cape three point basin by providing optimized production schemes
Evaluated factors controlling damage and productivity in 2 tight gas reservoirs and demonstrated the feasibility of acidizing to improve well productivity.
Optimized production operation to prevent the incursion of edge water, leading to significant cost reduction and improved oil production.
PROCESS ENGINEER, Tema Oil Refinery – Ghana 11/2015 – 10/ 2017 Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Limited is Ghana’s only refinery established in 1963 to enhance the country’s economic, investment and development programs. Crude oil, the refinery’s main raw material for production, is usually imported from neighboring Nigeria and transferred through pipelines to the refinery storage tanks for processing into several finished products. The refinery is a 45,000 barrel per stream day (bpsd) capacity Crude Distillation Unit.
Analyzed the production and economic activities of the units, developed and implemented measures aimed at reducing costs of production, fuel and energy resources.
Planned, organized and controlled operations on replacement of catalyst tubes of a steam reforming furnace.
Used process simulation tools (Pro II, Aspen Hysys) for solving operational problems.
Often took a round in the field in order to check whether all pipelines/equipment were in normal condition.
Planned maintenance of certain equipment like pump, heat exchanger and compressor.
Reviewed unit logs or computer data and computer-generated schematics to ensure current processes were running correctly.
Checked for leaks, freezing, overheating and excessive vibration in equipment.
Adjusted process variables (temperature, pressure, etc.) to maintain product specifications.
Monitoring process control units and responds to alarms.
