CAREER

SUMMARY: Highly experienced in directly managing, mentoring and building teams. Excellent communication, presentation and people skills. Strategic and conceptual thinker with love of storytelling with an omni channel approach. Solid understanding of how to achieve business objectives while meeting an expected brand standard. Skilled overseeing relationships with brand consultants and interactive agencies. Experience in print, interactive design, social media and direct marketing.

Agency experience allowed me to learn early in my career that you have to be skilled at handling ever changing deadlines, working with various personalities and departments, and to strive for producing customer enticing pieces. As my career progressed, I was able to get into a large retail company, Pier 1, at the ground level. Starting with a very small team as a digital designer I was able to lean on my agency experience to work with peers, direct reports, management and outside agencies. I was able to work closely with the studio director, photographers, visual merchandisers and other groups to grow the brand.

My experience in an omni-channel environment and a positive attitude allowed me to build, work with and lead both creative digital and print teams. Projects ranged from email to site to catalog. As I mentioned, starting as a designer, I was able to learn what it takes to produce assets and grow the team to cover all of the requests in an efficient and cost-effective way. Paying close attention to the skills of individuals allowed those direct reports to grow in their careers and our group to take on more projects, while maintaining the same headcount.

My job functions included the design and execution of all creative assets. I worked closely with the team to concept, photograph and produce all marketing materials. I believe one of my strengths is partnering with other teams/directors and building off each other’s requests and ideas.

Personally, I am a very creative person who looks for ideas in all aspects of my life. Seeing things while driving in the car, watching a movie or looking at Pinterest spark ideas constantly. I strive to be efficient and feel there is always room for process improvement to allow a person and/or team to grow. I am a super-organized team player who always has a positive attitude and am more than willing to jump in and work on any and all projects. The thing I love the most is the challenge and succeeding as a team.

HOBBIES: Spending time with my wife, Golf, Yardwork, Exercising, Fishing and Hunting.

SALARY: See Compensation Profile

COMPUTER SKILS: Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Very comfortable in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
